cos I applied via e-file on June 16th and got my EAD and AP combo card on July 10th from NSC. I could not believe it but I heard someone else on IV also got it very quick.

Maybe E-file is the way to go.

I hope your issues get resolved ASAP. from past experience going though infopass is only way to get help. Calling USCIS means asking someone that himself/herself does not know what to do.

I efiled at TSC. Took exactly 90 days. I had to travel for business and couldnt wait for the AP to arrive (they say upto 30 days, snail mail).

I went to Infopass where they said I had to wait for the AP to arrive. Because of the impending travel, I simply could not wait for the AP to arrive in the mail. Upon insisting, they issued a new AP from the local office for an extra charge of $360. Easy money for them !

Guess what, the original AP arrived the next day. At least I had the peace of mind that I could travel. The system is excruciatingly slow, inefficient and unnecessarily opaque.

I have my AP that expires on Sept 15th. I am travelling for 2 weeks in August. Can I apply for my next AP now or it is best to apply the next AP after my return?
I read somewhere that an AP approved when the person is out of Country is not Valid. Is it true? Please suggest

My suggestion would be to submit a request to your local congressmen. Check if You can submit on-line request with your details. I was in similar situation last year and it worked for me.

i did eFile too(not combo) and last 3 times i got quickly with in 90 days and this time only trouble happening and i provided Pictures and written in paper the reason of parole also sent. but overall i understand TSC is processing behind the schedules as per rep when i request to escalate.

Hope you guys get it soon. In my case, I faxed a request to NSC to expedite my AP application.

I can't say for sure that it helped but I got my approval emails within 3 days. I also got a letter in the mail acknowledging the receipt of my expedite request. The letter said that the documents I submitted meets the expedite criteria and that I should expect to hear a decision within 2 weeks. Not verbatim but something along these lines.

My application is pending for more than 130 days at Nebraska service center. Since last one month , whenver I called customer service , they are telling , that current processing date is February 16, 2012.

I made one Infofass visit to get expedite my application and another from customer service center , both the time they sent e-mail to processing center to expedite process my application ( they give me reference number of e-mail sent to Service center) , but no luck to me.

AP Electronically filed at NSC, Receipt Date is 25th Apr, its around 80 days, no sign of AP, and status still shows as Initial Review, Called USCIS service center and they asked to wait for 90 days (3 months) to check on the status..

Planning to take a infopass appt as my travel date is nearing (14th Aug), does anyone know if we have to pay the AP fees again if they issue us a AP at the infopass appt..

In case a close relative, like ( father , mother , grand mother /Father, childeren , spouse) is in serious medical condition , or in case death of any close relative they issue emergency AP.

Proof like nursing home certificate for serious medical condition / death certificate for close relative death to be provided . They may ask proof for relation ship also. Just illness to a close relative is not a sufficient reason for emergency AP.

In such cases they may issue 30 day parole.
They did not allowed me to meet officer without infpass.

I called USCIS yesterday to expedite my AP as its been 80 days (Receipt date 25th Apr) and it still show initial review on their website, Agent (USCIS) asked for my details and I told her that I have booked my tickets to India for Aug 2nd week based on the processing time of 3 months and If I dont get my AP in 3 months, it will be a financial loss for me, she asked whether the loss is for the company or individual, I replied back saying "Individual", she said she will expedite on the basis on Financial loss to individual and the onus will be on me to prove the financial loss, I said okay and she said they would revert back in 5 business days and Voila I get the approval mail today...

I want to share the strategy I follow for AP when e-filing and it worked most of the time (approval within 4-6 weeks)

1) Once I e-file the AP application , I will take a print out of the receipt notice
2) Immediately I will mail the receipt notice , 485 copy and two photos with my name and A# written on the back-side of the photo

06/12/12 -Filed AP , got approval 07/18/12 (Filed at TSC)

One instance when the AP is delayed , i submitted on-line request to local congressman , within 10 days I got my AP mailed.

Seems it took 123 days to get approved as i e Filed on 03/21/2012 for this 4th time AP renewal at TSC.

Well, It took 115 days for mine to arrive! And now I'm worried about my EAD which expires in November!

Well, i applied my EAD on May2nd by online 4th time and i got approval on June5th which surprise me too for the same TSC center and i just sent Photos only along with eFile receipt. Hope this helps.
