Advance Parole Delays

I applied for issuance of Advance Parole (i-131 travel document) received by USCIS on: March 26,2012 (80 days till date). I am still waiting for it. With the travel date approaching soon on July 2nd, 2012, I'm worried as to what happened to my case. The online status has been on "initial review" all this while.

How can I find out about my application and is there a way to expedite it?

You should be able to track it based on Receipt number.
AP renewals are taking close to 90 days, mine did that long, exactly 91 days.
You can call and request for expedite citing urgent travel needs.
You can also go to local USCIS office with same application forms you sent to USCIS for immediate AP renewal, but you have to take appointment.

I applied electronically on March 25th. Still in initial review. I too have to travel for work on the 2nd. I will have to cancel my trip because it is taking longer than 90 days to print a piece of paper! I have been debating with myself which is more inefficient USCIS or a govt office in india?

This is so frustrating not being able to know if the AP will arrive on time. If the online status has not moved beyond initial review in 80 days, how will it reach the card/document production stage in the next 10!
Last year I received AP on time but could not get time off. Lost $1000 in cancellation of tickets + $350 AP Fee. This year I have time off but the AP has not arrived!

Is your case with NSC? We applied for AP on April 5th and the online system says "initial review". We're travelling the first week of August and getting a bit concerned by these AP delay posts in immigration forums.

I've a couple of pointers for you since you are approaching the 90 day limit. Send a expedite request by fax or by calling them. You can find details if you google. As the 90 day approches, contact the local senator's office and see if they can be of any help. Go ahead and take infopass as a backup option.

I'm going to try these if I don't see any change in status in the next couple of weeks.

Yes, my case was filed with NSC. I called at the NCSC and they repeatedly said that I need to wait for 90 days to complete before filing an error. In case I wanted the case expedited, I'd have to bear the responsibility of proving one of the thousand reasons she gave me like severe financial loss or extreme medical situation/ emergency etc.
I've taken an info pass appointment for next week and will contact Ombudsman as well to see if anything helps at all...

I called USCIS and they told the case is in Nebraska Service Center and they are processing cases from Feb 16th. Hence this case is not out of the range of normal processing times.

This means a wait of 3 weeks more. We are travelling to India on July 15th. Meanwhile I have initiated a service request for expedited processing.
Don't know that we are travelling is reason enough for them to expedite it.

I just got back from my info-Pass Appointment (87th day from the receipt date). To my surprize, the officer I met was very kind, he looked into my case and told me that someone had recently started working on my case on the 18th June. He also put in a request to speed up since my travel on July 2nd was fast approaching. He told me to come back if I did not recieve my AP in the next 7 days in which case he will issue me an AP there itself!
At least now I have the assurance that I will be able to travel after all! I strongly recommend anyone going through a similar situation to do that.

That's good to know. You can never be sure with USCIS but it definitely looks promising.

I sent out an expedite fax request earlier today. I guess I'll go ahead and schedule an infopass appointment. Our receipt date is April 5th 2012 so it's been 75 days. Time to sweat it out!

BTW, what did you select an an option for the infopass appointment. I was just checking the online scheduling page for infopass and it gives me four options under "case already filed".

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I got the card/document production email from USCIS for the travel document. I sent out an expedite fax request last Thursday and today it says it's approved. Not sure if the fax helped or not.

My receipt date was April 5th 2012 and travel document was applied on June 25th 2012, so it took exactly 80 days. Time to cancel the infopass appointment

My AP application was received March 6th by USCIS and got approved June 22nd early morning., so well over 3 months.

112 Days till date, and the online status remains to be " Initial Review". No AP in sight!

I called two times for TSC and rep said they are doing very little behind (one time is Feb1st week & second time is Feb16th) so requested to escalate still not answer. Overall i understand that AP for TSC working longer.
