EAD & AP Approval Time at Texas Center - taking too long?

Hello All,

In reading through the recent postings, I am starting to worry that it is taking an awfully long time for EAD and AP approvals by the Texas Service Center (and they haven't even begun to deal with the huge surge of expected EAD applicants as a result of President Obama's new policy for undocumented minors, which has just started this month!)

I filed EAD/AP for spouse and myself on Jun 21st and haven't heard anything since. If you are in the same boat or have recently received approvals from TSC on EAD/AP, can you please post:

Yesterday I received EAD-AP como card which is valid till 2014. the renewal processing took less than 4 weeks

Quick Update for those who are waiting or yet to file - We did receive our EAD cards (a little over 50 days from filing date) but unfortunately, no AP! Our EAD cards are valid for 2 years. I think it's the fact that we e-filed that's causing TSC to process AP separately (even though the AP application was appended to the EAD application., during e-filing). We are still waiting on AP. We have travel planned next month and now with the surge of new filings coming from the "minor" undocumented migrants initiative that started Aug 15th, I am not sure how long this is going to take!

For those who are yet to file, I would advise paperfiling, if you are looking for combo EAD/AP card!

We received EAD’s after 2.5 months but still waiting for our AP’s. It has been more than 3 months now. We submitted both EAD and AP applications together via postal mail and even though I have recently ported to EB2 and received confirmation, they still gave 2 year validity for EADs!!!.

We've filed for only AP at TSC and received in 30 days.

Approved on 08/14/2012

I got my EAD approval email today. Applied on July 20th. Applied for combo card.. Don't know if I got approved for combo card or just EAD. AP status shows as Initial Review.

Me and my wife have applied for our ead/ap on July 26th. We got card production emails on Aug 20th. which is less than a month. I even had to go for fingerprinting on Aug 16th. Not sure if it's for 2 yrs. AP still shows initial review.

This is good to know. In our meetings we are asked feedback of our members on immigrationvoice.org website on various immigration processing matters. EAD and AP has always figured and we are asked for any recent observations. We have told given them suggestions and they have been implemented. Sometimes we have collected cases that are outside processing times and still unapproved or someone who will lose job if not approved. Hope such approvals become more straightforward in future so that people do not have so much anxiety.

Pappu - unfortunately, they seem to be addressing only half the issue! For some reason, they are ignoring AP applications even when jointly applied with EAD. Like others who have responded to this thread, I received EAD approved email (but AP continued to remain in "initial review" status). When the card came, to my dismay, it was marked "NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL" even though I had specifically requested EAD/AP Combo Card. Still no action on AP!

Will be glad to provide example, if needed, to forward to USCIS.

I got only EAD too even though applied for AP and EAD concurrently.
