Will USCIS mail my green card on UPS rental box (NOT a PO Box)?

UPS rental box has Suite Address.

1. For how long does EAD stays valid?

2. If I'm the primary applicant for the Green Card, can I leave my sponsoring employer to either start a business on my own or work for a different employer after I received my EAD?

Would anyone be able to advise if I can travel out of the country after I've filed the 485 if I have an approved I-797 approval notice (for H-1B) but old H-1B stamp in pp has already expired?

If I travel out and then get the H-1B visa stamp at an outside consulate, I would be able to travel back in, but would I have considered have abandoned the 485 application? (since I travelled out without a valid H-1B stamp in pp)??

Can I travel out even before my AP arrives? Or does having an AP make a difference? I would prefer to stay on H-1B status since you never know what happens to the 140/485 application.

I am in the same situation as yours. The visa stamp on my passport expired last year and I have an approved I-797, which is valid till Oct'07. I am planning to file for I-485 on June 1st and I want to travel to India as soon as I can. My attorney's advise was to wait for receipt of I-485 application and then travel to India and get H-1B stamped on my passport from a US consulate in India. According to him this is not considered as abandoning I-485.

I checked with somebody in the forum like you and he got it in 2 and 1/2 months. I checked in the USCIS web site. It says you have to apply 6 months in advance. I did not know about this since I got it in a month last year when my case was in CSC.

I have my 140 approved ,in order to apply for I485 do I need stamped H1 visa in my passport?
I dont have my H1 stamped since 2003 ,I have I 94 valid until oct.2007.
then accordingly we can go to canda or my country to get it stamped the earliest,if it is mandatory.

My name on the birth certificate is "girl". What should I do correct it. I was reading on the forums, that we can get a written statement saying that the name was not decided when I was born. And submit that along with high school mark sheets etc. Are there any other things that could rectify this error.

You don't need Visa Stamping. I-94 only matters for USCIS. I applied my 485 last month and my passport Visa stamping expired one year ago. Good Luck!

2 choices... you can change your name to "girl" OR just get "Birth Affidavit", you should check with your lawyer on the latter.

Company A applied for my GC in Oct 2002. I received I140 and left the company on good terms and joined company B. company A promised that when my date becomes current they will authorize my 485. Now that my date is current, the company A is saying they cannot give me an employment letter because they are not doing well financially. The company has not more than 3-4 employees and they had been suffering losses for last few years. Now even if they have good intentions for me, they are unable to file for me.

What options do I have now? restart GC process with company B and utilize my priority date?

Please help. For a day I was excited about my date getting current but after al there was no reason for me to be happy.

If you can restart ur app in Eb2, you should be fine dates wise. Unless CIR messes it up.

Approximately 2 months for PERM and then you can file 140+485 concurrently.
