Folks,

I'm trying to understand when USCIS initiates the FBI NameCheck Query. I've read reports on how the NameCheck process works but no where does it mentions:
a.) when USCIS initiates the namecheck procedure

Does the name check procedure start right after you file AOS (485 application)? Or does it start after the application has reached a certain stage in processing?

The name check is started shortly after the I-485 receipt notice has been generated.
