Timeframe to get receipt notice

Hi folks:
My I-485 pacakge reached USCIS on July 18, 2007.
Do you know how long will it take to get the receipt notice for the I-485 filing. What is the time frame to get the receipt notice in general?
Also, will the receipt notice be sent to me or my attorney?

For June Filers it averaged about 25 days to a month.

i had conversation from my lawyer yesterday and they mentioned that they are recieving reciepts for cases that were filed in first half of june. so there is at least a 6 weeks delay which will get worse now !

USCIS expects to provide in time-compliance for receipting of form types listed below:

N-400 ___ 8/10/2007
I-131 ___ 8/3/2007
I-765 ___ 8/3/2007
I-140 ___ 8/3/2007

Nebraska Service Center
USCIS expects to provide in time-compliance for receipting of form types listed below:
Data Entry: Compliant BY
I-131 ____ 7/18/2007
I-360 ____ 7/18/2007
I-485 ____ 7/18/2007

NSC might have then moved significant cases to TSC. Only cashed checks are a way now to know if receipts are generated.
Receipt numbers are important to know before August 17th because a receipt number shows that the application was properly filed and not returned.
If something went wrong we can still refile before August 17th.

People who filed in late June are being told by USCIS to wait until mid august to get their receipts. So, you cna imagine what will happen to the July deluge!

my lawyer has send the application(485... EB3, residing in Texas) to TSC, but I saw in the USCIS web site, it says we need to send to NSC, when I asked my lawyer, he said we can send to either place? Any Info on this?

I'll be filing my 485 by July 27 or July 30. I've to travel to India in August.
Will there be any problem at the immigration when I come back, if I don't have the 485 receipt notice ???

My attorney said that all I485 has to go to NSC. Also, I came to know from the forums that some of the folks have got their rec. # for their June filings.

It can take a while

I filled to arrive June 1st. I still don't have my receipt notice yet. However, I have completed biometrics, so I know my case has been received.
