AP Experience at Newark Airport (Nov 17)

Returned to the US on AP with family on 11/17. Working on EAD, used AC21 to switch employers. Presented Passports, I-94 forms and both copies of APs to officer at primary inspection. Officer inspected documents, took fingerprints and pics, and requested escort to take us to secondary inspection. Asked to wait at secondary inspection while officer checked documents. Officer then requested us to approach him and asked who the primary applicant was. Then he asked who the petitioner of my EB application was, and if I was working for them. I answered I had moved to diff employer in same position earlier this year. He then asked how long I had worked for the petitioning employer. He then stamped our APs, I-94s and passports with the parole stamp, returned docs to us (including both copies of the APs), and asked us to collect our luggage and proceed through customs. No further questions were asked or further docs requested. Overall process took 20-30 minutes.

Thankyou for the information. We are planning to travel on AP next year, how ever last time we travelled in 2008 and then never travelled so Our I-94 is expired in 2009. I am still working on EAD with sposorer employer and also with other employer. I have not taken AC21 because my lawyer said as I am still working for sposorer, I do not have to. Any suggestions are appreciated. Do we will face any problems?

I entered using AP from Houston (IAH) after changing job under AC21 rule. As expected they took me to 2nd level. Just asked me what kind of food are you carrying. I answered some dry foods and baby foods. They stamped my passport with a new I94 and asked me to proceed for Custom. Overall process took 10mins (1st level) and 30mins (2nd level)

I entered on Nov 7th thru newark using AP and my wife used her H1 to enter. I had heard some stories about people getting stopped at newark airport and didn't know what to expect. Finally the process was smooth, no questions asked and it was all over in 10 minutes.

Information is always helpful and will help ppl searching at a later time.. there is no need to freak out even if there is a problem... face it... and above all no need of unnecessary panic. Parties above never created a hoax they just posted their experiences .. btw did they say anything wrong or framed any statements nope...

This message was helpful to me. I have traveled with my wife through there in 2007 without any issues, my wife will now travel with our 14 month old and it is good to know that there is one less thing to worry about. As all parents know, traveling with toddlers is no easy task.

May be going forward we prefix such messages with [INFO] tag to tone down the message.

good for you...I am not sure which world many come from. There is so much negative info already about AP and its horrer stories these type of info help ppl to reassure them of process that happens recently... I encourage each one of us to post their experiences good or bad to ascertain whatz going on ... only when ppl share BOTH good and bad it helps everyone.

yesterday I returned safely from work, no accident. I drove at about 60 miles per hr. on highways and about 20 MPH in the town. But overall a good driving experience, no hassles. I carried my driver's license, I saw few police patrols on the way, but they didn't stop me and didn't ask me for my license. Very cool...everybody can drive now.

Glad to know you reached home safely. The information was helpful because we now know that it is okay to travel 60 miles an hour on freeways where sometimes the posted limit is 50MPH also we know that is is okay to drive 20MPH in a scholl zone while the lights are flashing at 10MPH.

Take it easy dude - use the information if you like or just move on to another thread and post your responses to peoples questions.
