How long is I-140 approval taking these days

I have filed for my new I-140 (EB3I category) on July 22nd, 2011 (receipt date), the LUD is July 28, 2011( showing the case is under initial review. The attorney says that it the processing dates mentioned on USCIS website is absolutely incorrect. USCIS are taking approximately 8 to 10 months for processing. My company is not willing to switch to Premium Processing as my Priority date is not yet current.

took just 2 months.

Now the wait for priority date getting current .

My I 140 got approved today finally after a long wait.

Applied at Nebraska on May 25th 2011 and was in Initial Review till today.
Mine is porting case from Eb3 to Eb2 , same employer.

Is there a way to know if they correctly ported my PD now before my attorney gets the approval notice ?

Ported EB2 to EB2 and there is no way to know till you get the actual notice

How long does it take after the reply of the I 140 RFE? The case status says it is pending and the decision will be made in 60 days but now it has been 90 days. Any thing that we should do to speed up the process. Kindly advice and give expert suggestions if any available.

yes, i was. I takes about 10-12 days for the application to show up in the system. i think mine showed up in the system on 1/21 (applied 1/10 , received 1/12).

I got my I140 approved in about 10 months.
I am currently on an EB3 but I noticed a user above (MIK18) has ported an EB3 to EB2 with the same employer. Does anyone know how this is possible?

Also a previous post here said getting an approved I140 offered some type of security in case of layoffs. I am on an L1-B, so I assume that if I were to be laid off my I140 approval would not mean anything? Is this different on a H1-B? Is was my understanding that if you get laid off on an H1-B (regardless of I140 approval) you have something like 14 days to find an employer to take over your Visa, is that correct?

also! If I was to get laid off and have to leave the country could I still keep my GC application running as I have an approved I140? thanks!

USCIS case status shows I140 approved. It took about 46 days. regular processing.

Finally we get hard copy of the RFE. We had to speak to USCIS for obtaining it. It seems that USCIS had not mailed it out in error the 1st time.

Here is what the RFE reads:
"USCIS now requests that you provide evidence for your recruitment documentation in order to clarify the attachment in labor certification stating that you would allow combination of education, training, and/or experience to meet the educational requirements. Evidence may be submitted in the forms of, but not limited to, a copy of the original tear sheet for the advertisement of this position and any in-house media posted within your company to solicit for this position, as well as any other forms of advertisements your company may have done for the recruitment of this position."

My attorney says that it is very strange to get such RFE from the USCIS and that too at the I140 stage. I will appreciate any comments or suggestions and/or advice.

Hello MIK18;,

May I know what priority date is written on your receipt notice? The new one or old one. My I140 filed in second week of March 2012 but it mentions the new priority date, not the old one. Any idea what does that mean?
In the receipt notice it also mentions that "Please note that if a priority date is printed on this notice, the priority does not reflect earlier retained priority dates" Any one know what does this mean?
