USCIS Extends Temporary Premium Processing Suspension for I-140s

My I-140 got approved this morning (EB2 from rest of World filed in 08/2006 in Texas) so it doesn't really affect me, but had I not got my approval this morning I would have been very upset about this. I thought they had previously said this suspension was until 08/01/2007, but now they are saying it’s indefinite. That sux, but what would be the reason for the extension of suspension?

The reason given earlier was the flood of I-485 applications that they were expecting in the month of july.

The same flood has not been extended up to 8/17 and it would tke them weeks before they can enter all I-485 applications.. Expect to see I-140 PP coming back around October if not later.

Sorry to hear this.
I think, now they will concentrate and focus and move resources from all over to process all the July 485's.
They stopped on July 1st. So 15 days are over after that. So no more personnel in premium department.
So they will move all the guys in premium department and add them to 485 department.

Guys waiting for 180 with unapproved 140 could be at risk. Unless 140 is approved 180 day period will not work. AC21 will be the focus after 6 months as everyone waiting changes their jobs.
They might even come up with AC21 form in few months ? Who knows.
But everyday, we are surprised by them.
