How many months Valid H1B Visa required to Travel to US.?

Three months ago I came to India on vacation and due to some reasons I had to stay back for few more months. Now I am planning to travel back to US in third week of July-09.

H1B visa valid till Sep-09
H1 petition valid till Oct-2010

Can I travel with the same visa.? Which is going to expire on Sep-30-09

I think you can travel with that Visa without getting a new one stamped.

Yes you can. I traveled with just a couple of days remaining, and had no problems on re-entry.

Hope you reached USA? Did u carry any H1B documents (pay stubs, I797, employement letter etc) with you? And how did it go at the port of entry?
Please reply me asap as I too am planning to travel USA in the early next month. I need to know, what all documents to carry with me and how will it be at port of entry.

I have valid H1B till Nov 30 2010 and I am in my 6th year of H1B. My H1B visa is stamped till Nov 30 2010. I came to India 4 months back on a month break but due to my father's sudden illness I had to stay back. My company allowed me to work from India. I am travelling next week back to USA. Will it be a problem for me to get a re-entry? I have all documents all my pay stubs and every document. Please advise.

I do not understand the question.
Are you questioning the validity of the dates printed on a visa in the passport?

As long as the trip abroad is of a short duration, for vacation/business, and you have maintained H1 status, you will not have any issue re-entering.

Need advice.

I got my H1b approval from my old employer A. With that employer, I got Visa stamp starting from oct1'2010 till sept 25'2012.

In Sept'2011, I changed my employer to B. B filed H1B extension and got approval for next 3 year i.e. from sept'2011 till Sept'2014.I also got I-94 valid till sept 2014 along with the extension.

I am planning to go on vacation somewhere in Aug end or Sept first week this year to India to attend a friend's marriage. But some how my trip may not be for more than 2 weeks time.Should I go for re-stamping?. what if I don't get the interview date for the visa interview?. In any case I have to return to US before sept 25th. And what all documents should I be carrying with me?.

As per my knowledge, you will need to get new H1B visa stamped. Visa is specific to the employer. If i remember it correctly, they actually put the petition's name on the visa. hence if you travel to US on a visa that is no longer valid because you are no longer working for that employer, that will be considered a fraud.

Caution: This is my personal opinion. I am not a lawyer.

If you have unexpired visa, you can use that to enter into US, even if it is from the previous employer. You MUST carry the petition from the new employer. That's all.
