Default fee for H1B termination?

I left my H1B employer and started working on EAD through my spouse I-485. My previous employer says that I am responsible for the fee involved in informing USCIS of my H1B termination and that he would deduct it from my salary. Is is true that uscis charges fee for this?

IT is not your responsibility to infom USCIS.it is your employer responsibility to inform. So you are not liable to pay any fees for this.

your lawyer just needs to send a letter from what I know. how much is he charging? anything more than a 30 minute consultation fee of a lawyer and you are being screwed. Also HE needs to pay, not you..
