Sorry for my ignorance, but still could not figure out what you want to convey. Can you please explain?

I think this is what he was trying to convey... Few years ago, we did not have any Indian Citizens in the top-10 of Forbe's Wealth list. Now, we have 4 out of top 10! I think the message thet the OP is trying to convey is.. "Look, the grass is really 'greener' on the other side! Why all the fuss about something which is not even green in color?"

Some one noted and I am paraphrasing here : When you look back, you never regret for what you have done in the past but you regret what you did not do. This may be the only one you "regret DOING". Immigrate and wait for this stupid card and put all your plans on hold. It does not mean that every one who came here would have become billionaires if they stayed back. But for some the life would have been equally good, if not better, if they stayed back and their innovative ideas are not stifled because of their visa status and/or country of origin. If you have an idea and know how to start a company and take it public, your visa status is not an issue in US. Greencard is required to lead a normal, good life. And in that sense, many people can get normal good life in US than in India. Thats why we came here and thats why we want greencard.

Personally, I have no regrets at all. I am doing quite well in the US despite my irritation with the visa issues. All I wanted to highlight was that there are some major changes taking place around the world that we need to be cognizant of and be able to benefit from - both for ourselves and the next generation.

If you know who the star of this website is (http://www.richdad.com) you would know about the people he encouraged to get into real estate as the market was tanking.
I know how he got rich- by getting people to pay for his "coaching" |

I can give one example. I never knew before reading his book "Retire young Retire Rich" that one can buy insurance to protect his stock portfolio through PUT options. That one piece of info is worth many times i paid for the book. You dont hear main stream media talking about PUT options even during the 2000 - 2003 bear market. |

Life is a damn Bi**h!
We came here in search of the green pastures only to realize the pature we left is producing greener grass. Anyways, this is my adopted country now. I have been fighting green card battle for so long that I just don't want to leave in between. It has, in a way, become a mission. Moreover, there is no surety that I will do any better back home. I cheer up for my fellow countrymen doing well back home. I hope, I will be proudly telling stories to my grand kids about the heroes of Modern India and in turn not being slammed for taking decision to emigrate. Quote:

There are success stories everywhere. Take for example “Thor Bjorgolfsson” the first billionaire entrepreneur from Iceland. Would anyone in their right mind even imagine the possibility of creating wealth in Iceland, which is nothing but a snowy desert? But he envisioned it and achieved it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bj%C3%B...rg%C3%B3lfsson Hence one can be successful anywhere if they choose to. So stop drawing lines between India-US and just follow your dreams.
