mr_orange is on a distinguished road
Default EAD expired last year

Apologies if this is not the current forum for this question. Mods - please feel free to move it if necessary.

My situation is as follows : I am on a valid H1 up until Oct 2010. I had applied via EB3 and had received my EAD card a couple of years ago. I never used my EAD and also did not renew it. Reason being, I didn't plan to switch my employer at that time. Last December, I reapplied for my labor via EB2 (thru the same company) and it got approved, reason being that EB3 was going nowhere is terms of forward movement. I recently lost my client and as my company is a consulting firm, they are finding it hard to find a contract position for me. I might have to lookout for fulltime positions given the sorry state of the job market.

My question is - Can i apply for renewal of my EAD card now or is it too late? Would it in any way affect my EB2 application?

Thanks!
Vivek
