Folks,
Please come forward to show your willingness to talk to reporters. This is extremely important to encourage local media organizations to cover this rally. We don't have too many people from the East coast on our list. Need more people from tri-state area, specially NJ and also from Florida. Please refer to this post on how to indicate your availability. http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/sh...8&postcount=38

I can talk to reporters. My story is below. I think I need to stress more on how US will loose if we and others leave the country.
I came to US as a graduate Student in 2000. I did research for NASA and FAA and later worked for major hi-tech companies in the USA. My work for the current startup and previous one changed the technology landscape. simply put we will be the next Google/Apple.US is slowly loosing talented people to other countries, loosing the technological innovation. My wife is a doctor and she cleared all her exams in US to secure a residency seat, she could not get one as all universities are asking for green cards. She has applied to US universities again this year without any hope. I read daily news of shortage of doctors through out USA.This is my 7th year and there is no sight of getting a green card. My wife has few doc friends who can talk the same and we can ask folks in the IV-Physicians group to talk. PD: EB2/05 Contributions: $500 I am in SF bay area. The profile is updated. I am not sure how to make my story compelling. I have been stuck in my job since September 2004. I have invested nearly 4 years of my life here in getting my 2 Master's degrees. The second Masters was while I was working. I am easily one of the highest qualified individuals in my division. I am not sure how many promotion opportunities I have given up. Honestly, after 11 good years in this country, I am seriously thinking of going back to India. Had someone asked me if I was thinking of going back to India 2 years back - my answer would have been a no.

I have already posted this earlier and also sent english_august an email. So this is perhaps a repeat.
My husband and I are from India and have traveled extensively around the world. We have lived in South Korea, Singapore, HongKong, Europe and UK before we landed in the US. Both me and my husband are on H1-B's and have been in the US since 2001. My husband is a graduate of IIM Calcutta ( a premier management institute) and is in a senior management position at a global ERP provider. I am a graduate of UTA (MS in Information Systems) and working as a Sr.Product Manager for a global satellite telecommunications provider. Both of us have been sponsored by our companies under EB3 (yes! EB3) and we have been languishing under LC, and then I-140 for the last 4 years. In the meantime, we had 2 daughters, one 2.5 yrs old and another 9 mos old. My husband travels constantly - 5 days a week, every week for 4 yrs now. If its international travel, we do not see him for weeks at a time. My daughters may have seen their dad for a max of 75 days in a year! Why won't he quit- because his company has sponsored him and he cannot! I am almost a single mom for all practical purposes- having to deal with their upbringing and my career. One may ask why I wont quit- the answer to that goes back to the GC. I have my I-140 sponsored through my employer, and we have that as a back-up plan in case something happens to our GC process thats on through my husband. We have had a long distance relationship for the past 4 yrs...and I am tired! It has been very difficult, to say the least. We are at point where we are seriously considering going back home/ Canada (we are Permanent residents) where we will be able to live as one family. Although we love this country, we have to put love for our family over love for this country. We are very well qualified to get the best anywhere in this world! I am from Houston, TX

Hi,
I am available to talk to Reporter. Here is my Story: 1. Came to US in mid 2000 2. Never out of status and always had a valid H1B job. 3. Filed for GC in Oct'2002 under EB3-India Category 4. Used EAD in 2005 so lost H1B 5. Got married in 2006 and since no H1B, I couldn't bring my wife here and I was waiting for my Greencard so I can do "Follow To Join" for her. 6. MY GC approved in Jun'2007 and filed for her "Follow To Join" petition in India. 7. With latest VB developments, no hopes for my PD to become current in next 3 years. 8. Already separated from my wife for 18months now and don't see any hopes here. 9. Planning to move to Europe sometime early 2008 and send my GreenCard back to USCIS/DOS. 10. Sent email/letters to Senators and President asking for a visitor's visa for my wife but nobody helped. 11. Recently Govt issued a new rule for Cuban families where cuban families waiting for their visa in Cuba (similar to my situation) can visit their relatives in US while their application is pending. Why cann't Govt do the same for all countriess, at least it will help family reunion. 12. I can speak to Reporter and am not afraid to go on TV either. Let me know if you need any more info from me Thanks. |
