Forging Signature In India

hello guys
I know this is out of wht this IV is for.
But pls let me know if you know something about this.

One of guys I know forged my signature in a proprty document without my permission i didnt know it until after 2 years. I was in US whn it was signed.
Can i put a case against that guy and make the document invalid.
If I can , is it a criminal case or civil?

I wud appreciate if you can give me ur views.

talk to some desi lawyer...instead of seeking advice/guidance on this board!

eventually..i will tlk to a lawyer..just wanted to know if someone knows about it or have been unlucky enough to have this kind of experience..

Forgery is a crime and hence the case would be under IPC 420

Some other friends here have suggested right that your chances of winning sitting here are totally dependent on the quality of your lawyer...

I know a bunch of laywers in Delhi due to nature of my work... let me know if you need help.

If you have proper documentation and evidence getting a stay till the matter is decided in not that big a deal...
