Default Government to Give Work Permits to Younger Illegal Immigrants

Wow!! So WH can bypass congress for helping illegal workers but NOT for tax-paying and law-abiding legal immigrants!!!

WASHINGTON | The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

The policy change, described to The Associated Press by two senior administration officials, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress and partially achieves the goals of the so-called DREAM Act, a long-sought but never enacted plan to establish a path toward citizenship for young people who came to the United States illegally but who have attended college or served in the military.

Good for illegal immigrants . But what about employment based immigration where there is a huge back log of legal immigration petitions. There are thousands people who are already in US, paying taxes and patiently waiting in line for decades to get their green cards lawfully. They have kids too who have aged out and cannot be filed as dependents. No one cares. Correct! Where Senator Grassley who is holding HR 3012 hostage in the name concern about future immigration into the country where the administration is bypassing the congress?

Together we rule, divided we get ruled upon. Needless to say Illegal immigrants have stuck together whereas legal immigrants have not. How many of us are ready to come out to a rally in support of HR 3012? Pathetic!

That's no good. We work hard and pay lot of tax. Suffer for 10-15 years to get freedom and fighting for HR 3012 so more people can get job through our new ideas. but they dont want to consider that..

I rather choose the path Kunal Bahl chose to start his SNAPDEAL.COM. Start company in India rather than waiting for benefits here...

What needs to be done to gather folks for a rally? Does anyone have a plan? I guess sending flowers OR writing a lot online OR sending signed petions does not seems to seek the needed attention. In that case, ONLY a rally/demorations in Washington DC would do.

Step 1 of the plans defined to win election in Fall. This might help wining NV, NM, FL and few more states. He is after the Electoral votes needed !!! In reality, EB Immigration is pathetic only for the applicant. Not for congress or others., You will still pay the same tax even after GC and no big hurry..

Winning election comes first than anything else for Politicians and a First Term President is no exception.. He plans his re-election campaign from day 1 in the office.

Need to wake up...nobody gives damm about H1B and EB backlog...actually industry loves to use H1Bs for a good 6 years and after which ...then they get a fresh batch of H1B to use....so long people put up with it, it will keep going on.

Everybody is pissing on H1B's back and pretend it is raining.
With country quota the problem is "containted" in India/China. In fact ROW is far better off in the present system.

So far contributed 300 bucks for HR 3012, still do not have access to Donor forum and so do not know what is going on behind the scenes with IV's support for HR 3012. Not doubting IV but just wanted to let this be known to concerned people that even those who contribute do not get any updates.

Ready to join any rally in DC/home-town of Grassley with at least 7 others though.

wow!! politicians can do any thing to get votes. This is most ridiculous thing.
I think this is political gimmicks. There are too many condition to get work permit for these illegals. Obama want to get votes by saying he did everything in his power.
All those illegal immigrates came as kids and now they are adults and can make a decisions so they should be asked to leave this country and enter legally.
We are waiting in line for GC and cant get H1B extension with filing I140 and this is an insult to everyone who is following the law. No place for immigrants who play by rules in US.
US should not let go of people who graduate from US univ and also have exp because these people will go to diff country and compete with US.

One of the recommendations of Jordan commission on immigration is US don't need immigrants who don't have undergraduate degree and also move away from family based immigration. Only 13% of immigrate to us because of job skills rest family. UK, Canada and Australia are other way around.
