President Obama, Vice President Biden and bipartisan Senate and House Leadership today gave a fresh start to reform nation’s ailing immigration system through a process of dialogue and action. Immigration Voice applauds President Obama’s leadership on this critical issue that is very important to the continued economic progress and one that represents the best of American traditions. With today’s meeting, The President started the effort for the much needed immigration reform by announcing a working group lead by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
While we as future Americans wait for the comprehensive immigration reform to reach our doorsteps, we are also heartened by President Obama’s recognition of the need for improvement in the administrative procedures and the issue of backlogs. Transparent and instantaneous electronic access to immigration records has been long sought by the immigrant community. Building a client friendly USCIS that provides e-mail and text updates will ease the wait of many years that has become common with employment based immigration. As the White House, the Congress, the current and future Americans navigate the path to comprehensive immigration reform, Immigration Voice will stand by its commitment by extending our full support for this process, with the hope that change is coming to the nation’s immigration system to fix employment based green card backlogs.

I am unable to understand as to what the breaking news is here ? I thought I read in the forums last month about Oppenheimer saying that the USCIS website will be revamped to show more details ? Obma just restated the same fact now with fanfare .
And also how will revamping the website cut down delays is beyond my understanding unless he racaptures visas or does something on those lines . The revamped website will just show condemned people like us how many more days do we need to serve to get out of life imprisonment punishment ? ![]() At least in the previous version we could have wild guesses( visa bulletin prediction threads , I miss those ) and keep our hopes alive , now we will know right from day one when our ordeal will end . They want to to kill one little last hope of visa bulletin prediction also .

Dont you think you are giving too much credit to USCIS. USCIS already has a website which sort of gives some status, all USCIS might do is add an extra column here and there which gives you irrelevant information.
This is what would be considered relevant and useful information. 1. How many EB1, EB2, EB3 485 application have been filed and pending as of today. What is the break down of these applications by country and priority date. 2. Has your application been pre-adjudicated. 3. has your application cleaerd all background checks (FBI, name check .......) Do you really think USCIS is going to give you this information? never Quote:

![]() even for a website upgrade, the real reform is to remove the priority date for applying for 485 so that we can get some EAD benefits atleast although we are still behind in the GC queue. That will never happen beyond CIR. |

I am not sure who came up with the 3 step process. In any case, it does make sense to give anybody who has an approved I-140 EAD/AP benefits like the rest of who were able to file I-485

Is Oppenheimer going to make that too along with visa bulletin? He should have you tube like video feature and live feeds from his desk. We should see live who is getting greencard right now and he can congratulate the applicant by video conferencing in the live feed. This kind of transparency is what we need and is more important than any bill. That would be so awesome. Let us lobby Oppenheimer to do that for us.

The name of the clerk who picked up the application and what time. The name of the officer and time he picked up and dropped the completed application The IO on the phone should connect us to that officer when we dial 1800 number If we call, they should stop all work and look at our application If we are unhappy we should be allowed to compain to the supervisor and give negative rating to the officer We should pay money as fees only after getting greencard in hand. |
