I am thinking why to give around $250-300 to HR block … professional if I can file myself. Thanks
I used HnR block only once and never used it since. Been filing my taxes online for the past 8 years. If you have qualms about sending your online print outs for an RFE, you can always request the IRS for an official transcript of your taxes for the past 5 years (which is what I did while filing for my I-485).

Default First Time Homebuyers tax credit

Hi all - We have entered into a contract for a home to be closed in May'09. Can we claim our 8000 tax credit ahead on our 2008 return (ahead of our closing date)? We have the address of the property. Its just the possession / closing will be after April 15. Thanks.

You need to file for OR and not for CA.

Is it ok to accept checks from them while he work for another company on W2 and he is on H1
Now his client is asking him to give his SSN no for filing 1099 form.. does he need to submit any form to IRS?
As far as I know, He cannot accept work related expense reimbursements from companies other than his sponsor. Now in this case, if he has accepted payments on 1099 on H1B from client, who is not a sponsor, if he doesn't have EAD, the payment will be considered for "unauthorized work".

He will have to claim his expenses from client through his sponsor. This is just my opinion and others with experience may throw some light.
