Default To know about franchise law

I am running a franchise restaurant in the US. My native place is in Toronto. Due to some health issues, I need to go back to Canada. In this situation, how can I terminate the agreement with the franchiser without losing the initial franchise fees? I read some details regarding this here Getting Out Of A Franchise Agreement: Termination And Damages For Breach | Law Works. But I don't know whether there is any difference in Canadian and US franchise law. Can somebody provide me a solution for this?
