Hi,

My PD is still far away but I want to plan if this is really worth going for.

What is the average 3rd stage processing time?

After filing for I-485 and I-765, how long does it usually take to get the green card or green card equivalent?

It is hard for me to use AC-21 with my current job classification so I have to wait till I actually get a green card or something equivalent with which I can legally change to the job I want.

I know it varies but normally how many years?

Please let me hear your experiences and projections.

Thank you.

experiences:- we hope and pray on a day to day basis. Visit all the immigration related sites 3 times a day, in some hope that *by some magic* our numbers will be current.
projections:- we hope and pray and repeat again:o

I have been told it takes anywhere from 4 months to 12 months, depending on which area you are applying from, luck, etc.

May be it is 4 to 12 years if you are from India.
