We are pleased to announce the June 2010 cut-off dates for immigrant visas for individuals born in India and those born in most other countries.

To qualify for an appointment, an applicant's priority date (the date that the petition was filed) must fall before the cut-off date for the appropriate category.

The following numbers are derived from the Department of State's Visa Bulletin. If you have additional questions about cut-off dates and your case is being processed at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai, please e-mail us or call us at +91-22-2363-7407 between 2 and 4 p.m. IST.

He is not joking ! THAT SEEMS TO BE TRUE. This is going to be a nightmare again. Why can't they move the dates in an order rather than going to extremes all the time? Here is the link...

Great news ...I do have a concern that this will create a severe backlog at the 485 stage where USCIS does not follow any order of processing.

I have quite a few friends and colleagues who were able to apply for 485 in July 07' but since then have no idea when they will get their actual green cards...

Either ways, glad to see this progress!

I think there is going to be some change. The dates posted on the CG Mumbai website is same as May Bulletin. Moreover, the hyperlink in the statement "The following numbers are derived from the Department of State's Visa Bulletin." points to this page

I think some very attentive and hard(ly) working data entry clerk at the State Department put in the July visa bulletin dates in the June one. This is just one way for the State Dept. to convey the good news a month in advance. As for me by the time I read page 1 of this post I had already invoked about half of the 3 million gods. Tsk Tsk.

I might get 100 red dots but I am going to risk it to make a valid point. If EB2 India is made current then thousands of EB2 India people with PD of 2005 will be royally screwed. It already happened in 2008 when dos\uscis moved the pd to June\July 2006 and issued green cards to people from 2006 leaving thousands of people from 2004 and 2005 without approving the green card. 2005 people still don't have green card while about 5 to 10 thousand people from 2006 were issued green card in 2008. If USCIS makes the dates current then the same thing will happen again. I definitely understand the desire of all eb2 india people to see the pd as current but I am just showing the flip side of it.

My guess is most probably they are going to make eb2 India current if not now then may be in the coming months because these bulletin mistakes don't happen without a reason.

For a person like me (10+ yrs in the US with no GC), these VB stupidity make no difference. We have seen 2001 dot com bubble bust when retaining a job and earning a respectable salary was a challenge in itself….forget about green card. We saw 9-11 that just crushed everything and made life extremely difficult for immigrants. We also survived 2008 financial collapse and subsequently worst depression in decades. All in all, this decade has been extremely hard for immigrants in the US. My brother came to the US just 15 months before I landed and he is eligible for citizenship. There are times when no matter what you do, things do not turn out the way you expect. Live life and stay healthy. Visa bulletin will come and go.

Once it is out it is official according to many members here, so why not take some action.

Many folks spent sleepless nights yesterday.......here in US, they file lawsuits for nothing but in this scenario there is some beef atleast

I wouldnt piss them off with lawsuits etc..
Jul 07 was different in which case, many people spent lots of efforts and money, travel plans cancelled, and what not, for so many days. Dont remember for how many days the bulletin was online.. may be 5-10-15.. But it was not a couple of hours.
People could prove easily that they were misled.
Here, in this case, can we do that?. If so, I wish all the folks get some relief, though not for me, as I know what it is like.. You must also get. We know the pain..
But, just make sure we dont appear taking advantage of the situation, else it can backfire in a different way.

One member did have the snapshot showing EB2-I as current in this thread itself, isnt that enough proof ?

btw, USCIS has not helped India all the way by using all the numbers that we need to be sensitive to them, we are just following the rules, isnt it?

Wiser words have rarely been spoken here!!!!

Common guys....It was just a typo! Can we drop it please.......all this discussions of law suits and stuff.....common, while we have many legitimate bones to pick with the USCIS, we can not be with with our arms up about every little thing.....It was a typo and it was just that.....so can we drop it and move on to focus on better agenda items.........

Folks let not assume it is the mistake of the Mumbai consulate because the site says
"This site is managed by the U.S. Department of State." , so there is scope to sue them.

this is pure cut paste job of Data Entry operator in Mumbai consulate.. who is a recommended appointment by our ministry of Forgein affairs, . Usually these appointments are through recommendations. (but not publicly!)

just cut pasted the same on both the columns. for lot of categories and realised the mistake.

Any way if this can be sued and at least keep this for a month. lot of families and individulas have at least EAD, and escaped from this H1B memo nightmares.

The addition of Dominican Republic as a new column may have been the reason for the error on the Mumbai Consulate page..........
Hopes raised and dashed!!!!!!!!!!

There is a new chargeability area in the new visa bulletin for "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC". It looks like US Consulate, Mumbai posted the dates for this new area.

Visa Bulletin for June 2010 (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4879.html)

China moved by couple of months and India stays put.

My guess few weeks ago on this forum was seeing China EB2 move 1 month forward and India EB2 staying the same for now as they do not have much visas for the year. Looks like China has more visas left for the year to advance dates by 2 months, while India EB2 may still be trying to use up pre 01FEB05 PDs. The number of ported cases from EB3 to EB2 in India is an unknown apart from the full visibility of the data. Let us see how much is EB1, EB2 ROW spillovers and FB spillovers if any later this year and early next year.

Not that it helps anybody. But I guess the mistake done in mumbai counsolate page was because,

Until now India counts used to be next to China's. Now "Dominical Republic" counts are added between China and India. And somebody or could be even a automation mistake that the app was looking for hardcoded 4th column.

As I said, this logical reasoning doesnt help anybody though.

Hi IV Admin,
We are looking at a potential mistake by them, should we take this opportunity to file a law suit. Admin can you please weigh in on this please?

Lawsuit can be filed if any law is being broken. The official source of bulletin is Department of State website Visa Bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html)
This DOS website shows the correct bulletin.
If anyone can complain about the Mumbai Consulate website, it would be people who applied for CP and due to change in dates within few hours, some law was violated that caused them to suffer. The first thing that may happen after this complaint is that Mumbai will stop publishing 1 day early and will expect everyone to view the official DOS site first.

How would you file a law suit when no law is broken? It's a copy/paste mistake by some one. Moreover, they fixed it even before half the world s awake.

Looks like the reason for the mistake in Mumbai bulletin is the introduction of a new column for the Dominican Republic and the operator/process for Mumbai site took the data from wrong column in the source system.

We do know why you are not interested thinking abt a lawsuit as you have filed 485 already :)

Waiting for Pappu to answer the question

Common Dude, are you seriously that petty? or this is some weird sense of humor? If I could, I would give you all EADs, what the heck even green cards......but I can't and we can't control that.....all I am saying is lets get back to what we can control and that is active participation in IVs efforts......don't leave it to some poor guy making a typo for your situation to get better.....thats all I m saying!! If you still feel law suit is the way to go....knock yourself up man!

So next bulletin will be the first in last quarter ie where we except some changes due to spillover... is that correct? .. I believe in 2007, it was July 2007 bulletin that made all dates current for EB India... right?
