As we all know that it is an election year. Is there any chance that all retrogressed EB`s be current for atleast 1 month before june? There is a rumor that by end of june USCIS is contemplating on discontinuing concurrent filing of I 140 and I 485.

I guess, you are on EB1 and it is always used to be Current for India and my question is, why are you concerned about retrogression.

I believe he is not self-centred. When IV can talk about immigration issues on behalf of immigrant community, he, being one of the registered members, can show his interest in and compassion for people under EB2 and EB3 categories. EB1 GC aspirants can be concerned about EB2 and EB3 and vice versa.

I reckon it would not be wishful thinking to hope for opening up of 'flood gates' this year, like the way it happened last year. Maybe it's a possibility. I'd hope for it, with my feet on the ground!

the floodgates open, it does not mean that you will get a card in your hand. What it will do, is allow folks to file their 485s and get EADs (which is in fact good).

So the floodgates being opened is good in mitigating the pain of a lot of folks, but it does minimal in clearing the backlog. What is needed is legislation (visa recapture, increase in quotas etc).
