Unrelated to our issues....

A 1-minute *SILENT* film ("Hi") I wrote/directed is showing online and competing in Toronto Urban film festival. It's a silent film because it will be also be showing saturday(09/06/2008) in the Toronto subway television screens. (too much noise for the commuters to hear anything)

It only takes a minute to see! They will select the AUDIENCE WINNER based on the vote. Please VOTE for my film.

The subway is like the doors of the visa bulletin. They open for the PD for a very small time and we miss it in the sense that the GC is not approved in that short window. (Just trying to relate):)

beautiful film excellent work one of the most effective 1 min film i have seen keeps good pace keeps you anxious to see what will happen next and the actors have done a good job, the last moments before they say "Hi" will make you break the silence and say Hi yourself.

The quality of running sequence and editing itself is fabulous. are you a film student, or professional?

They didn't miss the train...the train is actually on the opposite track! They "connect" in way coz they both feel silly and relate to each other's feeling. The screen is really small to figure it out!

It's okay. I got the same comments you expressed, I learned a thing or two about filmmaking and I have since re-edited the film to make the point clear!

The creativity lies in capturing the everyday moments, giving it color and capturing your heart and imagination, and to put that all together in a 60 second movie is a commendable job.

I didn't intend to make this film for small computer screen. I made it for general film festivals with big theatre screens. I just happen to get into this festival! Otherwise I would have taken the subway geography("opposite track") into storytelling.

Anyway, I personally don't subscribe to filmmaker explaining the film. I've put it out there. You're welcome to interpret the way you like it :)

:D:D:D Man, that cracked me up!!! It's tough not to notice that everything (almost) we see around us these days, we compare it to our plight/situation and the workings of USCIS/DOL!

Good One!

Everyone of us observe and emote (not acting). but then only some of us express it on a film.
the girl is overdressed for a 'Hi'. and does not act natural. excellent editing/post production for a 1 minute thing. movement of trains and the girls fake expression are the only impressions that stay though.
