The BC should contain your first name last name , parent's first name and last name.
USICS is very particular about Mother Maiden name for some reason.
talk to you r lawyer about the affidavit.
You maybe be required to submit one with the above mentioned info if they are not present in the BC.

We came to know about my DOB mismatch while preparing for our green card application. Now I have correct DOB issued by local muncipal office and affidavits from my parents. I have a question...Can it be easily corrected on my passport at an indian consulate or I need some civil order from a court of jurisdiction. Thanks for any input.

My DOB on my passport is wrong by just one as I was born around 1:00 AM.... Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi guys,

I do not have a BC and the municipal office in Kerala is refusing to give a non availability certificate. I was planning on forging it.
Does any one know if USCIS or any govt agency in US is going to cross verify the BC with the municipal office in my village?

Thanks in advance
Biju

Hi bijupin,

dont get into any forgery ,USCIS has all the resources available to cross check and verify certificates if they really get suspicious.

I would suggest get hold of someone from your local village authority and get the non-availability of birth certificate and then get the affidavit from your parents. That should help you.
