Default Interfiling EB3 to EB2

I've been with this company for the last 6 years. they filed my EB-3. since then I have completed my masters and got many professional certifications.

With 140 approved in 2005 and 485 pending (July 07 fiasco), I asked my company lawyer and manager on possibility to interfile. they are dodging the question because they very well know that I will leave as I could get the GC right away.

Though I am looking for options to switch with another company who can help me out on this, just wanted to know
1. what I need to look out for when interfiling for EB3 to EB2
2. what are the approximate costs in this process.
3. is the company liable for these costs or is is the applicant.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

1. what I need to look out for when interfiling for EB3 to EB2
You need to have Job Code/Job description for your current labor (just in case things don't work out and you could not get EB2 in new company, you may need this for AC-21),
approval copy of current I-140

2. what are the approximate costs in this process.
This is subjective, Desi consultants may charge you 8K-10K for entire thing. As per rule the company should pay all the filling fees. they may charge you the attorney fees. Not sure about adevertisement cost/interview cost etc. Desi employer will charge you for everything.
3. is the company liable for these costs or is is the applicant.
Company should pay all the filling fees. Rest all how you negotiate with the company.
Just FYI. I did not pay anything for my EB2 porting, so it depends how you negotiate.
