Default Advanced Parole - received approval email no I797 in mail

Can we leave the country as soon as we get the approval email? I know it is ideal to wait till we receive the I797 but in a emergency can we leave the country and have someone ship it to India?

As i understand it, if this is an employment based case it should not be a problem, if this is a family based I-130 case, you should not leave until the AP is approved.

Thanks for the response. This is employment based and I already have my Green card approved on March 30th, 2009. I am hoping my wife will get her advanced parole document by next week as I booked her tickets to India on May 2009.
