Default Extension on visitor visa

Hi, my parents has been coming here from last 5 years. they usually stay here fro bat 4 5 months and go back. This time they want to stay here more than 6 months, so my question is how safe it is to apply for their 6 months extension. If i do and suppose they approve, would that create a problem for their future visit.

Please help me out here

Thanx

The extension may or may not be granted because it will depending upon the reason for the extension. WE should apply at least 45 days before it expires. As long as you stay in the state legally and do not violate any terms of the visa that you are on. If we had the strongest reason for extension of visa then Our work will become easy.

There isn't question of safe/unsafe. You could apply on the behalf of your parents providing the reason for extension request. Approval is at the discretion of USCIS.

Extended stay approval will not have any bearing on their future visits. Make sure that they do not stay longer than the period that they are approved for.

Default extension applied..

Hi, I applied extension for both my parents in the last month..it will be 2 months from their date of departure. I would like to know if it is okay to stay for extended period if they are still waiting on the reply? what if the stay is not approved then do they have any grace period to go back?
Appreciate sharing any experience with it.

thanks

Yes, it is okay (legal) to stay while their request for extension is pending. In case their request is rejected, they must leave the country soon after receiving the notification. I am not sure how ling is the grace period in this regard. I assume that it is 3 days.

But the possibility of rejection is VERY remote. Enjoy your time.

All the best,
