Angry I-140 approved 6 months back but not yet received the approval form

Hi,

My I-140 is showing as approved online since March 2009 which was filed in March 2008.

I contacted my HR and they are saying "they haven't yet received any approval letter" till date. This is the actual response.

"The approvals do not get sent directly to us. They are instead sent either to the outside counsel who does/did filings for green card or to the corporate immigration counsel's address. Forwarding I-140 approvals is not a priority for anyone right now as green card processing is at a stand still for quite some time to come. I am sure that when the other more pressing matters are dealt with, counsel will catch up on I-140 documents."

Is this common not to receive the I-140 approval letter so late?

Are there any one who received the I-140 approvals recently?

Please help!

I was in a similar situation. The online status showed that my I-140 was approved July 13, 2009 and a notice was mailed, but my attorney said they didnt receive it yet.
Finally i got a response that they received it on Aug 13, 09, ie 1 month later. I seriously doubt it takes 1 month for a mail to be received, unless USCIS itself mailed it late.

My suggestion is to get in touch with your attorney, not HR. Ask them if there is anything to be done legally, in case if i140 approval notices are lost/not received on time.

It definitely does not take so long. 5-10 business days after the online status changes is the maximum time needed for mail to reach the destination from any USCIS center.

Yes it is true.
Mine was sent to wrong address, so USCIS got it back and the case update said that mail was returned and my employer should call a specific number to update address on recirds and also ask it to be resent to this new address.

The same was done and I got it in 2 weeks after that.

So I would say NO WAY it can take this long, some problem somewhere, ask your employer to call them and ask them to resend.

I guess the attorney might have received and not forwarding to the HR or to you. I dont understand why do they give this kind of reponse from HR. Other pressing issue is not an excuse for not sending the I-140. Its really absurd. Are they stop eating because of other pressing issues or not taking the pay check...?Check with your attorney.

Have fun.
