Default Employment Contract

Hi,

My Employment contract states "The term of the agreement shall be extended for 36 months from the date of approval of h1b visa extension , subject to approval of h1b from uscis (commencement date) for the like period after the commencement date (the "Termination date" ) subject , however to earlier termination . Employee agrees that is an assignment or project extends and is going on after termination date or employee is scheduled to start a project after termination date , the term of the agreement shall be automatically extended until the completion of the assignment or poject"

Does this mean that i can never get out of this contract until a current project finishes and my employer cannot find me another project. My current project maybe finishing in a few weeks and he is unable to find me anything. I want to find myself a direct client job. What are my options,

Default Consulting company contract

I'm not a lawyer so do not consider this as legal advice. If I was in your position, I would find a client project if I wanted to and tender a resignation with a professional 2-weeks notice. Such a contract won't have any legs in a US court.
For peace of mind, it may make sense to pay a lawyer to go through the contract and see what is enforceable.
