Default Climate Bill or ... ?

The oil spill in gulf of mexico is a horrific man-made disaster that impacts nature. It is surely going to have a huge impact on all energy policies for years to come. Now with all due respect to all those who are suffering or will suffer even including the natural resources and birds, fish - I have a following question to ask -

What will be the impact of this disaster on the energy and climate bill that was in the process of being introduced in senate by respected senators kerry, graham and lieberman? Will it give it a boost with prioritizing it over any bill because it suggests alternative sources of energy or it will have a huge hit as it proposed more offshore drilling. May be it will take some time before they negotiate that piece out or provide some solution for it. If it gets postpones, is senate likely to take CIR as it creates more time and space on legislative calendar?

The dynamics of how this tragedy unfolds, its impact on climate bill will have a direct impact on possibility of any immigration bill in senate.

corrected.

i think they don't have luxury to deal with both legislations at the same time. If this incidance impacts energy legislation in negative way for some reason then chances of CIR are high. If this incidance makes people feel that energy security is more important by securing alternate energy measures than offshore oil drilling, then it gets priority. Ultimately, senate's willingness to deal with any legislation reflects people's will to deal with the issue.

And another point here is Whether the oil makes disaster or not, President is fuming inside about the Arizona law and Ohio,Utah & Texas are going to follow the same Anti Immigrant law so. there is no alternative other than having a Federal law applicable to all states and that only can be acheive through CIR. so we can see CIR Introduced in the Senate before May 31st for sure.
I think its Oklahoma...........
