Default 145K apps pending for visa numbers / adjudicated

According to Ron Gotcher,
"The unfulfilled demand from the CIS is presently 145,000 EB visas. That is, they have adjudicated 145,000 cases that do not have "current" priority dates. Of this number, 50,000 are EB2 cases, 94,000 are EB3 cases, and 1,000 are EB3 "other worker" cases"

Here is the interesting thread:
Collaboration on visa quota data/analysis - Page 6 - Immigration Information Discussion Forum

Not sure how close this is to the various calculations other IVians have come up with so far.

No, it is expected to be Nov 1 2001.

Likely Visa Bulletin cutoff date movement.

Interesting - looks like "Pre - Adjudication" is kinda officially being posted on the USCIS website.

pappu/Aman - though this is not a big deal - maybe we can get a clarification from USCIS on preadjudication in the meeting you people have with the USCIS liason?

Default that would be cool

yeah, if we could ever find out what pre-adjudication means... especially, if it means that there will be no more RFEs or at least no more necessity to prove stupid things like birth, recent photo id, all non-immigrant status - it will be great... in addition, if they can clarify whether they allow self-employment with no "gray area" that will be the GREATEST!

Probably the new system which mr Change proposed that would techically replace existing system may give more clarity - God knows if such a system is in place or it is just a statement.

This is my personal opinion. You NEED fingerprinting as part of adjudication process. Because preadjudication means - file being really processed as per the guideline for the fee that was given.

Chances are that not all cases are preadjudicated.

If you have not yet been fingerprinted, you may want to call or take an infopass.

I am a July 2007 filer and have gotten FP done once. I believe they would have expired by now. I had an AOS interview last month and the IO did not mention about getting the FPs done again. Should I take an InfoPass and find out?

Not sure, but I also did hear that people are not getting FP notices again. Maybe I am wrong.
