Default EAD, Part time job and Taxes

Hello,

Can a person on EAD (only, no H1) do part time work?
What is the impact on taxes? I assume it would a 1099.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks in advance.

Default No problem

If you are primary beneficiary on the 485 (not dependent) and your area of work is within same or similar then now worries. If you are dependent then same or similar does not apply so no issue at all....

Default

The part time work does not have to be same area of work as long as you maintain (or have a offer for) the job mentioned in your PERM and 140.

As to your other questions -- when you work on EAD , even on a part time job, you loss your H1 status (even though you might be working for your employer on H1). You need to file tax on all your earning . 1099 is not an issue
