Default State welcome/dinner at white house for India

Obama threw a state dinner and grand welcome for Indian PM as recognition of growing Indian influence in the world. A great achievement for India as US is realizing India's potential and hence wants to be a strategic partner.

Thumbs up Congrats all of you, Indian-Americans & NRIs!

This is because of all of you, Indian-Americans as much as it is due to the great country India- directly as well as indirectly! When President Obama welcomed the Indian PM, he really acknowledged the significance of all of you, GC or no-GC, as well as the rightful place of a civilization that goes back over 5000 years! God Bless you all!

Default Sugarcoating w/ no substance.

Obama visited China, Japan, Singapore and South Korea, but not India. Next year, he may visit India en route to Pakistan.

The sheep is buttered before cooking!!

In fact american administration does not worry much about india. Because INDIA has no investments in US nor angering india costs anything to US. However this is not true when it comes to china. US has to worry about china due to amounts of imports from china as well as chinese money in US.
Hence obama did not visit india ,but china. Our PM had to visit US.

Please note that I have nothing against China... except its enemy of my country( bcos they want indian land).

Did I miss something?

Don't know, but i think India is not a high priority for US as much as CHina ( creditor ), Pakistan ( need them to fight Taliban/Al-Kazhutha ) etc are.

that is rite. India is not highpriority now for th US. The dinner and day spent with Singh was kinda "social", and "fun filled" and cultural event for Obama who otherwise dealing with local issues, economy, war and all the crap that is happening.

The influence of the high profile Indian Americans is also one of the reason why there is more India focus - The day is not far where India will be the center of focus.

I think the author looks at everything cynically just like how a lot of people view Obama with cynicism.

Empty words - "No social security pact" No promises on india- nothing substantial except michelle obama dress- whats the point - white house tradition - flatter indians with fine wine and dine & they will be happy- recipe for indian cooperation.
