One more question is, have they included "Visa-Recapture" which at present time is very crucial for LEGAL guys like us who have been waiting since a decade?

They will certainly have to pass the DREAM act. Republicans in sizeable Latino regions wouldnt like to commit political suicide by washing their hands off from the DREAM vote.
That includes Scott Brown Kay Bailey Hutchison Bob Bennet et all. Unlike the dormant EB immigrant community these DREAMers are pressurizing the Senators like all hell broke loose.
The DREAMers are setting a good example that we can learn when we lobby for EB-reform early next year.
Lets sincerely pray DREAM passes. Unless Latinos get what they want no EB-immigration reform has a sensible chance at passage!

Default Nothing for legals

There is no provision in DREAM for legal immigrants. If this bill passes we can forget of getting any immigration application approvals for next 2 years, as USCIS will be busy adjudicating "undocumented" cases with their thorough verification.

The dream act bill would help us

1. Hispanic Caucus which is much more powerful that a handful of legal immigrants, will not let any piece meal immigration pass, till they have what they need.
2. Secondly if dream act bill passes, then we have a better chance for small bill for legal immigrants.
3. It is already stated this process would be handled separately by USCIS, that would not affect other immigration processes.

I am skeptical about passing in Senate.I support the bill as the children should not be punished for the parent's mistakes.

Absolutely right! Punishments are reserved for those whose parents don't commit the mistake, and regular guys who commit no mistakes

Where it is stated and who told you it wont affect other people/process.

Its a wet dream this dream act will pave any way for us. I would be happey if its not taking something from us. Ofcouse the USCIS will handles it separately and I dont understand how they would do otherwise. The question is do they have the resource....or they going to increase the fee for legal immigrants to hire the resources needed to process the DREAM applicants.

When they can charge us for Border security, 9-11 responders....they can do this as well.

The only one way for us is to fight and learn from them. Donate for the lobbying effor, call the lawmakers office and meet your law maker. Pledege to spread the news and bring at least 10 new people to the IV, make them participate.

You cannot compare your or your child situation. You and your kids(Most of H1bs) are living in a legal visa and
do not face deportation. You can indefinitely extend your H1b or EAD. You are within the TOP 20% earnings Bracket
in USA.
But the Kids of illegal immigrants are living without any legal status and facing deportation any time. Most of
them are lower middle class and their quality of life will be much worse if they leave the country. Even if you
leave the country you can get same or better quality of life because of your skills. So giving Top priority to Dream
Bill is right thing. It will not make any difference if high skilled bill is passed after a few weeks or a few
months. It was good attempt to attach it with Dream Bill. But just because that is failed it is not a good idea
to oppose. Either Pro immigrants has to support or take neutral position

Are you really a legal immigrant. I doubt. Do you know what kind hardship a legal immigrant goes through. Even if the person has job, in status still USCIS asking to prove employee-employee relationsip, relationship between his great grand father and his great grand mother.

Why should we leave...just because we came here legally.?

Do yo mean to say the dream beneficaries dont have any skills and drag on economy.

How do you say it will not make any difference for the legal immigrants if the bill is not passed for us. It shows you dont have anything to do leagal immigrants. We dont have anything to do with DREAM act. We are not opposing or supporting it.

if you are tring to pitch legal immigrants against undocumented...good luck with that
