Travel to India Via Frankfurt on EAD/AP
Dear Friends,

I am flying India by Lufthansa airline vie Frankfurt.
Houston -Frankfurt-Delhi and in return Delhi-Frankfurt-Houston. Layover time is nearly 4 hrs.

Legal status in USA, currently holding EAD/AP with H1B expired stamp in passport. Just curious to know other people experience so far on this route. Apart from this, couple of my friend said that i need Airport Transit VISA to pass Germany. Do i really need German Airport Transit VISA to avoid the problem at airport.

If somebody has any experience, please share with me. Also suggest me what should i do about the Transit VISA

I have been out of H1 (on EAD/AP) since 2007 and have transited/connected thru Frankfurt to flights to India and various European countries least dozen times and I never encountered any problems. Also, I never got a transit visa too. You will be asked to show your AP only when you are connecting to a flight to US.

Just relax and enjoy your travel :)

Thanks for your response. Have you recently travel or several years ago. I was reading other posts, some mentioned that Airlines personnel did not allow to board on EAD/AP.

There are several other posts too in regard of this issue. Anyone has this type of issue.

Thank Yo

My recent travel was August 2014. Not sure if things have changed since then (which I highly doubt).

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 02:31 PM.
