maxy lets for now focus on H.R.3012. These other bills have long ways to go.

Nothing new than what every forum member already knows. These forum members probably know more and are better with the technicalities of the bill. A unheard of foriegn media is reporting by repackaging information in my opinion. We have seen such repackaging of information by experts on other forums too. Since when is a lawyer in Mumbai an expert in Immigration law of USA? Why cannot they interview the actual people of Immigration voice behind this bill? The interesting thing here is they mixed up multiple stories into one to make it a good chicken tikka masala.

Actually, looking at this month's visa bulletin, looks like the entire EB3 category is well behind .. including ROWs .. the dates are as far back as 2006 for all EB3 countries ... so even with HR3012, things will move to 2006 at the most for all countries by 2015, which is like 9 years behind !

I presume there should be a limit to number EB2 or EB3 PERMS that could be applied in each calendar year. Nothing more than 140k at the least !

Has not been placed on senate calendar . First time placed in Nov 2011 by Mr. Grassley himself and been read the second time and placed on Jan 23, 2012. Not been placed after that.

Default Few questions around HR-3012:

1. Does the bill have to pass the House again for voting as result of Senator Grassley's ammendment (assuming he'd lift the hold in exchange for his ammendment)?

2. Once successfully passed in Senate, how would the 140K Visa will be split? Does it evenly get distributed across EB1, EB2, EB3 and other categories and then gets issued to applicants with oldest priorty dates?

P.S: I did search in existing forums for above info prior to posting. Also, executed most of the action items. Recently printed and posted flyers in Chicago NW suburbs.

Thanks in advanace!

Lets say the Bill 3012 gets passed this week, God willing...
The Bill says its in effect from Sep 2011. But today is July 2012.
So will there be any numbers that can be used from last year, as the year is almost ending come Sep.
This is just to keep the discussion going.. I'm doing my action items..

Do you really think this bill will pass this week?

I wish that dream come true.

Default One never knows

You never know it could pass this week or next week. Since it will very likely be a voice vote, all they need is a few minutes. Looking at some of the voice votes, sometimes they dont seem to be on the days calendar.
