Action Item: Call Senate to pass H.R. 3012 now

We are all frustrated with October Visa bulletin. It feels like there is no end in sight to this ordeal and painful wait. We want Congress to take action.

This upcoming week is the last week Congress is in session for September. Please make two phone calls to your two Senators that represent your state and request them to pass H.R. 3012 bill. When you call, ask to speak with someone who deals with judiciary and immigration issues and give them the following message.

  • Hi, my name is ________. I live in _____________.
  • I am calling to voice my support for H.R. 3012.
  • I want to request Senator to support and pass H.R. 3012 bill in Senate as soon as possible. Thank you.

It will take 2-3 minutes of your time to make 2 phone calls. Do it every day this week.

Many political pundits and multiple news articles have repeatedly said that other than H.R. 3012, no other high skilled immigration bill has any change of passing in this Congress.

Here are the phone numbers of all Senate offices, state by state, for your ready reference:

so i assume we should call senate offices does it matter e.g. if ppl from CA call offices of out of state ? or just home state ? please clarify. my only concern there are some states which have limited representation.

h1techSlave 09-17-2012 07:33 AM

calling other reps

My feeling is that there is nothing wrong with calling other state reps. But we should say some thing like, I am from (my home state), but I have several friends in your state, who are affected by this bill.

Action item done

I called my State's both Senators today morning and the both office staffs told me that Senators will support the bill and noted my concern. They took all my details - zip, phone number, e-mail address. Please do not slack or think that others will act for you, call everyday and make this bill passed.

mantagon 09-17-2012 08:09 AM

I just called...

...it's one of the easiest action item there is...
