Default If Per-country cap is eliminated

IF and ONLY IF per-country cap is actually eliminated -- how much time do you think it would take to clear the 'existing' EB backlog?

Recent reports suggest that there was not much leakage in FY 2010, 2011 and 2012 in terms of EB visa #'s left unassigned.....so oversubscribed countries like India, China, Philippines actually did get more than 7% share each of the 140K total visa available. So total 140K visas were indeed being used per year.

So how does just eliminating per-country cap lead to decrease in the "current" backlog?

I can imagine it would streamline future queue by FIFO...but what about the existing queue?

Default It will make system fair

Country cap removal will provide same opportunity to all the applicants irrespective of Country of Birth, which is totally irrelevant in Employment Based Immigration System.
Of course, other provisions like dependant visas exemption , visa recapture, STEM provision are required to reduce backlog. But This provision of Counry Cap Removal is Very Important provision to provide level platform to everyone.

dwai,

Take a chill pill. No immigration bill is likely to pass this decade, despite the atmospherics in the media.

I disagree. It is us who cannot count. This is why you see a lot of peoples counting and making predictions every minute. Why it cannot be done once? If you do not agree look at threads of predictions. There is a website Too. Some person is also making ton of money from the viewers of his website. It is crazy.
