Default Medical Exam

Thank you very much IV for everything you have done for the thousands of us!

I know that medical exam is a requirement for the 'approval' 485 filing. However, as we prepare the docs in anticipation of some positive announcement, I am wondering if medical exam will be required even for the 'acceptance' filing? Its a given the the medical exam will expire by the time the 'approval' time comes.

It should be the same as filing I-485 and that requires medicals. Period.

Anyway, the whole purpose of this thread that started months ago was to advise people to prepare. And all indications (this time from major law firms) are that the day is near (if not today) with the unknown how far the dates will move. Hope for the best.

Just have to vent a few lines seeing some comments online.

The truth shall never be known as to why the lawyers are coming out and saying some “exciting changes” are coming and relief for the backlogged class and yada yada….

I do know that I did not meet anyone or participated in any event to ask for any immigration related changes. IV and their volunteers did that for me even before I realized that such things were possible!

If there are any lawyers who did the same as IV in bringing these “exciting changes” and are reading this, please shout and share your consistent efforts and not one-time meeting. But my belief is that no lawyer will and understandably so in that they would not have any more incentive to do so. I don’t’ blame them for not asking for something that I want. I think it does not work that way.

But, in their self-interest (under the guise of a genuine inner calling to help people in their immigration needs), they have always figured out ways to continue to make more money e.g. by telling their clients that it’s always better to be on H-1B even though you have an EAD/AP. Just in case the I-485 is denied, you have something to hold on to. I am thinking this advice is credible for special cases, but to apply broadly is border-line disservice to their clients. I know people who are on H-1B while EAD/AP following lawyer advice. O wait, could this be the reason they think these are “exciting changes”?

DMX - I am another one who is exactly thinking the same and I am sure thousands of others are. It just pains to see how someone cant just read through the simple fact of who has a vested interest towards and against us. I will spell it out - The reality is IV is by/for us and employers/lawyers stand to loose with any changes of the status quo.
