The change published today is actually a big negative. It basically states that you can use the "Dates for Filing Visa Applications" chart ONLY IF USCIS determines that there are more immigrant visas available for a fiscal year than there are known applicants for such visas. If there are no extra immigrant visas available, you cannot use those dates to send the application for I-485/EAD.

Default Received response from Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10) Office

Received following response from Legislative Correspondent; Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10). Admin/ Hil: What response do you suggest on this?

I work for Congressman Dold and recently reached out to the State Department to inquire about why they changed the visa bulletin. There explanation provided some background on this issue, however, they were not able to expand much beyond that due to pending litigation. At this time, there explanation was that following the President’s November 2014 executive action the State Department along with the Secretary of Homeland Security and Secretary of State worked to establish a series of recommendations that were intended to streamline the immigration process and improve services. It seems clear that there were unintended consequences that the State Department informed me were attempting to be worked out by the Department of Homeland Security/USCIS. Our casework specialists in our District Office (who I have CC’d to this email) would be happy to try and help you resolve the issues that you are facing and work with DHS/USCIS to help.

I have also attached the White House final visa report which outlines the background on this issue.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On top of this received an email from District Representative, Congressman Bob Dold (IL-10) office
I would be happy to speak to you about your case in person or via the telephone. Our office has opened multiple cases in regards to the visa bulletin.

I can bet you if you start a petition to rescind/cancel greencards for all EB1 EB2 and EB3 people that ported or filed through IT consulting companies or as multinational managers last year, you will get more than hundred thousand signatures in a week. You wanna experiment?

Where is IV in all of this...dear leadership waiting for some guidance. Been calling reps every day to get updates. Is there any advocacy meeting being planned ? What does this mean for all the work you have put in regarding visa bulletin updates. Having 2 dates and not trusting either is ridiculous.

Screw all the advocacy and the crap which comes out of it. Lets plan a big rally in DC asking to implement Executive actions as soon as possible with out uncertainity and delay.

I can't say anything about advocacy coz I haven't done it myself. Out of respect for the volunteers who have, your post sucks.

Feel free to gather the twitter heroes and petition writers and the lawyers and your employers. This is your chance. Do it.

bnaik - When I had called them, they told me write an email to David Stern. But I got a response from Noah Barger - Legislative Correspondent & Victoria Williams - District Representative.
I am personally not affected by the Visa reversal but I am volunteering for everyone. Did you get any response from Bob Dold's office?

I have a very bad feeling about this. Previously there is some order in the chaos. Now everything is chaos. I worried about retaliation by USCIS for forcing them to do this.

Default IV Update in FB

I am not sure many of you noticed. IV quoted the statement that USCIS released today and stated that they will provide more details later and asked members to stay tuned. For some reason they deleted the post or I am not seeing it? I told ya..something is definitely cooking.
