Default eb2 india and my PD of Dec 2008 ( please help me estimate for imp career decisions)

Hello

I am in eb2 india category and my PD is Dec. 2008

As a background info, I have read through lot of analysis but couldn't summarize on what it means for me.
Reason being I will be deciding to prepare on MBA decisions as my PD approaches getting current.

Immigration lawyers and experienced analytics folks and experts here, when do you think Dec. 2008 eb2 india will be current ?

thanks--

DOS has demand of 32k if their supply exceed this year and if they follow the law blindly then it will be this year.

If they use future demand calculation and supply is 20-30 k for 2011 - 2012 then you are looking for 2013 to get greened.

in case one you will get chance to file for I 485 in advance e.g. 1-2 year in advance then GC 2013, while in option 2 you will get a chance in Sep 2013 and gc in Jan 2014.

Dec 2008 is really far out to predict consider the variables involved today.
But I agree with the gc_on_demand... 75-80% by Q3/Q4-FY2013 (july-sep 2013). If you miss narrowly then could fall in within early VB movements in FY2014.

For May 2008, Q4-FY2012 (Jul-Sep) is very much a possibility.

The wait estimated above could get much longer if new variables come into play so nothing is sure..its all up the in air.

We have a narrow window to get legislation to help high skilled reform. Participate actively in IV activities. Schedule appointments with your local lawmakers and get the IV advocacy packet from starsun. Read the IV Advocacy Day - April 2011 thread to learn about what IV members did to push lawmakers to consider high-skilled immigration reform. get in touch with pappu/starsun and other senior members if you want to play a proative role instead of just waiting and watching visa bulletins.

Thumbs up

Please look into the predictions thread for more analysis and estimations.

With EB3 to EB2 porting happening currently and with the economy getting better (EB2 ROW will get used up more) - EB2 for Dec 2008 may not be current in the next 4-5 years, without legislative changes.

You are better off asking Bejan Daruwala this question

BUT, try to take part in IV initiatives like recapture etc, and it can make a difference for you

Given the unkowns no one can predict the outcome. Even USCIS does not what they are doing because they dont have the whole picture. Even though it sounds ridiculous it's a fact. There is no logic to this madness.

I would suggest you go ahead with your MBA and not wait. It could be 2011-12 or 2014-15 before you get to file your I-485, getting the card is another battle.

One in hand is better than two in the bush.

Cheers
Nat

thats the best advice you can get. USCIS is ten times more unpredictable than a game of cricket. They can make a fool out of even the greatest of immigration gurus or pundits whatever u call them. Just look at the previous years-predictions and the actual movement. Nobody or their grandmothers can predict whats coming up next. Never plan your future on these "so called predictions". Just stay in present and do whats best right now.

kundus is on a distinguished road
Default June 2009 PD and still waiting

This thread is to remind people even god cannot predict USCIS GC wait time under the current set of antiquated rules for skilled immigration in one of the most advanced countries in this world.

I see old posts like these where people in 2011 with 2008 PD though they would be current, and here we are in 2016 wasting yet another year of our lives waiting for the hen to lay a golden egg.

The only way forward is we fight for our rights by coming together. We demand that anyone waiting on 1-140 for 8 years gets a GC. Anyone waiting for GC with EAD for 3 years get the GC. All conditions of medical and employment terms have to be met. If we fight a case with something like this, we maybe be able to change the insane antiquated laws. Any Indian who has been here legally, working legally and been a good citizen deserves better treatment than this endless wait.
