Default EB3-I at 2001, Yr 2009 on horizon

What a lousy and pathetic system it is , the so called USCIS. I mean they want ppl to wait for a decade to follow all the rules legally to get GC.

And so is the congress/senate. It seems they are bent upon not giving GC, just dragging it from one recession to the other.

The way things are going, I wont be surprised if the backlog crosses the double digit! 7 years and 2 months and counting...

For folks who have waited that long, they should not keep them tethered to the empoyer or occupation. They could perhaps do its administratively...for instance, anyone with a GC petition pending longer than 5 years should be eligible for adjucation on the basis of EXISTING paperwork.

A lot of folks- illegal immigrants especially- are pushing for administrative relief in the Obama Admn and we - legal immigrants- deserve atleast equal treatment.

2001 - dot com bubble burst;
2008 - finance bubble burst;

Our GC journeys have spanned 2 recessions and we could not even take advantage of the slight boom in the middle...how pathetic.

Dates were current till 2005. They were again current in between.
So it has been a game of luck. Many people got GCs and may even have citizenship by now. Until 2005 your luck depended on the state your labor was filed from.

dates were current till Dec 2004(http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bu...etin_1343.html).afterthat in 48 months (05,06,07,08)dates were current only for 1 month(July 2007) which is for about 2% of the time.

USCIS delays GC approvals with some reason

1.Prior to 2005 they used to delay by delaying Labor approvals
2.after 2005 they are delaying by showing the reason called retrogression.

Default do u guys wonder what kind of ppl work at USCIS

it sounds they've hired x-immigrants , not US born citizens. it seems the very ppl who have immigrated our not interested in giving us green cards . how ironical?

It's true.. CA n NY were worst... Anyway PERM removed this state to state business of Labor for new applicants. But ideally any process should not have luck part including USCIS?

So waits continue till I am LUCKY.....

Yup, same here. 7 yrs 5 months and waiting.

Even friends have stopped asking me when I will get my GC. I think they may have asked so many times they got tired.

Funny to see ppl now a days getting labor in 3 months for what took me 4 plus yrs.

Hav been current since Oct 1st this yr and still nothing. It used to hurt but now am numb to the pain. Just hope the same job I have been in since 9 yrs still keeps me until some positive outcome comes (if it ever does).

Is your labor approved after 2005? If your labor approved before 2005 you should have got your GC right?

My labor was approved in October 2005 and the dates were in 1998 then so couldnt apply for 485. I applied for I 140 and that was approved in December 2005. Couldnt apply for I 485 until June 2007 just 1 month before the "free for all" where my dear friends with PD in 2007 could also apply.
Just makes you smile doesnt it
