Default I doubt Porting is going to cause problem in 2009

Other 500 cases relate to porting from EB3 to Eb2.

In bigger pictures, Priority porting is huge and I think we may see EB2 India priority goes back to 2002 sometime Spet 2009. I have seen some threads with EB2 current or reach 2007 by end of 2009. i dont believe it. EB2 dates will move back to 2003 by 2009 end because of mainly Priority porting from eb3 to eb2.
I seriously doubt the Prioirty porting will be a problem in 2009, Is in't true that someone who plans to port their PD had to start the process all over again with Labor? if this is being the case, # of Candidates ready for AOS before FY09 would be less. Imagine how much of time its taking for Labor and 140 to clear, these days with conservative estimates it takes minimum 2 years for both labor and 140 to clear, I think most of the porting activities started after June 2008....with the above info. I seriously doubt in immediate future there will be any backlog created due to PD Porting....Maybe next year yeah...it could be a problem......

Default PD Porting

Even if large number of people porting their Priority Dates is true, its not easy.

These days, typically it takes 1yr for Labor Approval and another 1yr for I-140 Approval.

So it is like 2yrs of waiting at least for people who are trying to port.

Default PD porting

From IT 485 tracker info, There are EB2 India cases with PD < Jan 2005 in pending state without I140 approval. So this means, Atlest In those cases, Labor Has been Cleared but blocked due to I 140 approval. Considering SO many PD proting cases which are just waiting for I140 approval and wait time is appr 1 year, I think by year end EB2 dates will be retrogressed to 2003

Angry Soft LUD (a joke)

Don't know what these F*****s at USCIS doing... They have transferred my 485 application 4 to 5 times. Every few months there is a soft LUD saying my application was transferred to another center. Why in the world these jack*** can not figure the correct center to begin with.

Anyone else having the same experience?

Here is what I got yesterday
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

Only good thing in that letter is that they gave me information that my background check is cleared.
Do you mind sharing with us, what that letter said?

Your question had a simple answer, "...our staff process cases in order they receive them, not in order of priority dates...". I wonder why they didn't give that. You might not have been happy by this answer, but from their side they would have answered your concern. What is meant by the date "case received", is very vague, it could be the date your package was delivered (RD printed in receipts), or date the last service center received, or when entered in the system, or when an IO received, or if one IO passed it to another when the next IO received,...

Angry March Visa Bulletin is Out

Disappointed as usual.

Forward movements by month and a half for EB2 categories only. Will wait for another month to start from zero again with a new hope.
