eb3 ind nightmare

there has been atleast some movement in EB2 India, but EB3 India standstilled for a long time, since last few months it shows same date, like copy&paste date from previous month, can we ever get out of it and will see some very good movement? any idea to anyone when immigration reform will be discussed by lawmakers which will have good news for employment based gc people? looking at current economic situation, I doubt they will even think in their mind abt us, rather they are trying to move us out from the firms which will get TARP funding, but guys we H1B people also pays taxes, so in that sense we are also contributer to TARP fund along with us citizen, don't we? well we need to united and send our voice to obama administration by every good means we can go with and hope for the good, god bless america.

Rethink our strategies

In todayís condition, arguments such as "I pay taxes so I should get Green Card", "Why should a guy from Italy get a Green Card and not me", "Impact on H1 because of TARP" etc will not fly. For example, Obama is having enough trouble in passing a bill to get his multi billion dollar spending account, given that do you think they will let him introduce a clause which will help H1B? I know we all need our Green Card and I am waiting from 1998, these years that I have been waiting were tough but I do understand that I am at the mercy of this government. I know most of you will jump and say that we are men and we have to stand up for you rights but the truth is by bitching about the system (doesnít matter whether we think it is broken or not) will not fly at this juncture. I feel that the whole issue needs to be addressed in a different way.
Let me give you all an example, When I came to this country there was a limit on the number of years you can stay with your H1 with or without your labor approval. Lawyers (this country is run by lawyers and believe this lawyers are powerful) would work with the system and make sure the guy gets his green card by a given time frame. A simple law change now forced guys to be treated as bonded labors and guys like me were stuck just the labor stage for 6 years.
So what I am saying is, we have to come up with a proposal which aids the current conditions at the same time beneficial to immigrant community. May be the IV think tank got to address this.

tinuverma 02-10-2009 12:07 PM

Very interesting..I have never noticed this before. I was wondering one thing..if both EB2 and EB3 had been current till 12/1/2004, how come we have ppl from 1998 who still have not got their GC? (assuming ofcourse that they had approved 140 by then).
This gets me to another "worry"..even if my dates become current in a given month, that does not mean I would get my GC. right? If the answer to that is yes, it would be really depressing.

Giving GC to people already in US helps this country. Forcing people out of this country will lead to more jobs being outsourced.

H1Bs are hired when no qualified American worker is available to fill the position. This is true even today. Somehow some of the loser americans think they are losing jobs because of us. This is not true. H1Bs are such a minority in US work force. Many of these guys are not getting jobs because they are not qualified.

Do you think any company will hire an H1B when an equally qualified citizen is available. ( Think about the additional expense and legal complications a company has to go through to keep H1B on the payroll )

Also the allegation that "H1Bs are low cost workers" is a lie. H1B workers are expensive to keep whether as permanent employees or as contractors.

These anti-H1B movement will hurt American workers the most. ( By outsourcing)

The only thing we need is to change the perception of American public. They are definitely ill informed about the adverse effect these protectionist measures are having on American competitiveness and the job market.

This is really very frustrating.
At least USCIS should allow filing for EAD once I-140 is approved so that GC can wait till the dates/numbers are available. At least your life can move on and not get stuck in a place for years........

I am one of those UNLUCKIEST person who couldnt file for AOS during July fiasco. I came to US in 2004, but I was able to file my PERM only in 2008 because of job changes.
I know forum already has this in its agenda to file for AOS when dates are not current. BUT... can we do some compaigning NOW so that people like me can get some relief by filing AOS and get EAD/AP?
I think this can be done as part of Admin fixes.

WHAT SAY GUYS?
Thanks.
