Default Congress man touring cities to document Urgency for Immi reform

Congressman Gutierrez (IL) Announces Five-Week, Fourteen-City Tour to Document Urgency for Immigration Reform in 2009

It is a good start in that after the economic stimulus plan being taken care of, immigration reform should be one of other top priorities and someone should start mobilizing the immigration reform energy somewhere.
February 27, Providence, RI
February 28, Atlanta, GA
March 1, Albuquerque, NM
March 7, Houston, TX
March 8, Phoenix, AZ
March 13 McAllen, TX
March 14, Dallas, TX
March 15, El Paso, TX
March 21, Chicago, IL
March 22, Milwaukee, WI
March 28, Tampa, FL
March 28, Orlando, FL
March 29, Miami, FL
April 4, Philadelphia, PA
Please note that the AILA is also scheduling immigration reform advocacy move in the D.C. in March 2009

Would it be a good idea for people living in each of these cities to bring the problems of legal immigrants to the congress man.

The Winds are blowing the other way unfortunately.

If you look at the Senate Judiciary committee, you would realise just how arduous a task is ahead.
Sessions,Grassley,Kyl,Durbin etc. No uncle Teddy, and others like Feinstein have their pet legislations like AgJobs and Dream.

Just looking at those first 4 names, sends a chill down my spine that anything helpful to us can get past that committee. I hope I am wrong and if IV leadership sees any positives in it they can correct me. It does look ominous.

After the stimulus bill, Congress needs to work on something and so I hope Congress decides to pick up Immigration. Favorable or unfavorable to us - i am just tired of waiting.
