My case shows "in process". Is there any contact number for Dallas?
10 cases above and below my number are either approve or closed.

I do not think BEC will clear even the RIR cases by 9/2007. There are several RIR cases stuck in that awful black hole back to year 2002.

Default Have you found one more field today in your case status?

Today I entered the website to check my husband's case status in Dallas BEC and it says AS USUAL: Status: "IN PROCESS" but there is an extra field before it: "RIR" and below it says

Processing Type Definition
RIR Reduction in Recruitment
TR Traditional Recruitment

Is anyone seeing today this extra field, or does this mean that finally they are looking into my Husband's case?

Thanks to all.

I see it as well. I do not think it means anything. All that we can do is speculate endlessly as to when they will get to our files before the rats get to them.

I am also seeing the similar information in my case. Looks like they added this extra processing type information recently.

Well I am confused with this new field. My case was RIR cases, and RIR was denied and converted to NON-RIR cases. So from last 4 years, for me, it was NON-RIR cases.

But today when I checked the case, it says Case Type: RIR. I have no idea whats going on.

My case also has that new field. My shows up as Non RIR. I have been waiting since Oct 2001. My hope is that in the next few months, I will have some information in regards to this case. In the mean time, I have a PERM, I 140 approved already. So waiting for dates to become available.

Default Texas BEC labor approved

I applied in Chicago under RIR EB2 on Dec 2004 and my case got approved from Texas BEC on August 2006.

I received my 45 days letter in July 2006. I heard people saying that once you get a 45 days letter then within weeks your labor gets approved.

Default 2001 LC to RIR

I had my 2nd meeting with my attorney today regarding the conversion and he has decided to go ahead with it.His prior concerns, the waiting for DBEC to state PR and amendments were rectified at the last AILA meeting on the 10th and he told me that even if DBEC does not reply you can find PR yourself and put in amendments in the e-mail.With RIR you basically have to run ads for 10 consecutive days (newspaper, web,on site) and once this is done you have to wait 30 days for any replys.Once the package is complete send it off before 1st April and hope for the best.
He thinks this will probably save 3-4 months since at the OFLC meeting they are allready thinking about extending the RI date for all LC from April 1 to August 1.As far as the October 1 2007 completion date he stood by what he told me last time that DOL has an extension and funding till February 2008 and anybody who can change from TR to RIR will be worth the extra $ because there is no way 85,000 TR cases are even going to get RI s by April 1 let alone getting 145,000 cases done by October 2007.
Hope this helps and if you can convert go ahead, been with my Lawyer since 2001 and he is trustworthy.

hmm. Per my lawyer, he told me that only TR cases can be converted to RIR, are the ones whose companies have been advertising for the last 3 months for the job oppourtunity. So not sure where you got the 10 day period. I remember reading that in the DOL instructions as well.

So anyone who has done this successfully, can you please clearify what is required to convert to RIR.

Thanks!

Default Thanks Lucky7

Thanks for posting this info Lucky7. I am also thinking of converting my labor from TR to RIR but was worried abourt getting everything done by April 1.

Does anyone know if the ads have to run for 10 consecutive days in newspaper for RIR?
