Default What exactly supporting documents for E-filing EAD renew?

I have e-filed EAD renew and need to mail supporting documents to TSC. The receipt form I printed out after the e-filing says:
go to USCIS.GOV to look for the documents. What I saw is that I only need to send I-797c copy because I am based on filed 485.
The form also says:
DO NOT mail photos or copies of identification unless requested to do so by USCIS.
However, the instruction for form i-765 says:

1. copy of I-94 front and back.(if file based on filed I-485, you don't need this)
2. copy of previous EAD (front and back)
3. two photos.

Is there anyone can confirm what documents we need to support the E-filing EAD renew based on filed 485? Thanks! I am worried about sending too many documents will invalidate my case.

IMO this is an important thread. Can any one please share their experience (success or failure) with EAD e-filling.

Default How many days before EAD eFiling

How many days is it before EAD eFiling can be done, 120 or 180 please confirm & as for the docs required when eFiled EAD its the photos & biometrics that they will send you a notice to go to ASC and get it done - no other docs required.

Search USCIS.gov for eFile link or docs req. for eFiling I-765 (EAD) please do let me know on the number for days.

I do not recommend e-file due to the necessity to go to ASC appointment and because you have to mail supporting docs anyway. I mean, what's the point in e-file if they cannot verify your current EAD/I-485 electronically?
If you mail-in, you need to send a copy of I-485 receipt, a copy of EAD (front and back), two photos, filled form (which is much easier to fill than on-line form, btw) and a check (if you filed before 8/17/2007).

I e-filed mine, got it without problem on 11th week. I was called for photographing - and that was it. It took 10 minutes. I didn't mail any supporting documents. USCIS has already everything. If they want anything else, they will ask.

Yes, 10 minutes, but did you take a day off to go to an ASC appointment? I've got my EAD in 4 weeks. RFE will delay the process, not speed it up.

Sending additional document in e-filed cases will not harm. One must send 485 recipt notice, previous ead card copy, I-94 form and photo ID like driver license or passport. I feel, e filing is not a good idea. There is no time benefit over paper filing. Even after e-filing one must send addtional document by mail. Must be prepared to go to ASC for bio-metrics (you may have an important meeting on that day).

Better to file paper filing. That is easy and simple. Avoid a trip to ASC.

I efiled on Monday (1/21/08) and sent copy of web receipt, copy of pending I-485 and approved I-140 (I know this is not required, but...). I had an EAD based on F1 long time back - but I did not have it with me physically nor did I remmebr the exact date. In my covering letter, I mentioned both these factors.

A friend of mine who is now working on EAD has renewed it twice so far - and both times he efiled and sent only copy of I-485 pending notice.

I haven't received 485 filing receipt. Can I print out the online file information and send that as a reference for 485 filing?

No, I didn't (it's all 5 minutes from my home and work). Neither I got RFE. USCIS have all the documents, why would they want the copies of the originals they have?

Default EAD renew question - Line 16.

Can somebody tell me what to fill in line 16 for Application to renew EAD (i-765) -- I am renewing my EAD , June 2007 485 filer..

16. Go to Part 2 of the Instructions, Eligibility Categories. In the space below, place the letter and number of the category you selected from the instructions (For example, (a)(8), (c)(17)(iii), etc.).

Thanks

Thanks, everyone.
So I-485 receipt should be enough.
Reply to the last question: For filed-485, you should choose filed-485 , that is (c)(9).
