Default Recieved request to submit Birth certificate and high school certificate

Today my lawyer recieved a request from INS asking him to submit my Birth certificate and also my high school certificate. I sent my BC at the time of filing my I-485 application and I'm not sure why they are asking for the same thing again. Did anyone recieve a similar request ?

friend also had similar RFE. He said he submitted everything initially, but got RFE. Maybe the lawyer missed it or something first time.

I also received the same request yesterday for my I-485, and I submitted it along with all other documents initially as well! I don't know why I got this RFE. My application is in Nebraska...

My wife got an RFE last month for Birth certificate though she had submitted her BC originally.

CIS either lost some documents or this is an attempt to buy some extra time by issuing RFEs.

It has nothing to do with PDs. My PD is March 2007 and I received an RFE last month.

On the other hand, there are people from 2001 whose 485s are yet to be touched.

Though they process applications randomly, 485s will not be approved unless the PD is current. I have not seen any exceptions to this rule either because there are none or people do not make the news public.

In connection to the above, here is a case where the 485 was approved when the PD was not current. I am sure, there are other such cases.

OK, now my lawyer confirmed that she included my birth certificate at the time of I-485 application. The birth certificate that I submitted was issued by the consulate based on my family register. The certificate included my name, DOB, place of birth, domicile, my father's and mother's name.
Now my lawyer said that I need the full translation of my family register, which has my grandparent's names, my parents' DOB, places of birth, date of marrige, and all of my sibling's information along with mine. Do we really need this kind of information? Does anyone receive similar request?
Thank you.

Can anyone of you please confirm--when u received this RFE---did your online status ever change? Or your lawyers just received the RFE without any change in online case status info on USCIS website?

I recieved an e-mail notification and online status also changed.
After a few days of status change, my lawyer received the mail.
