Pappu,

Is this part of the post pasted below is incorrect of the one before

"Only persons with a priority date earlier than a cut-off date are entitled to allotment of a visa
number. The cut-off dates are the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd of a month, since VO groups demand
for numbers under these dates. (Priority dates of the first through seventh of a month are grouped
under the 1st, the eighth through the fourteenth under the 8th, etc.) "

Hello All,

One month back my lawyer got a letter from NVC for filing fees for my wife's case that has priority date of June, 12, 2008. I am not sure what exactly it means for future date movement for EB2 category. Can anybody throw some light on this.

Thanks

Default This is what I found on family based cases pattern

It was purely from some google search on family based cases pattern. Since EB cases at NVC are 1% or less , its hard to find much more about them and come to conclusion. Generally people get fee notice in May - June gets interview date in Sep - Oct on family based side where NVC case load is 75 % or more.

Any plan to update donors later today ?

You read chinese ? but, your profile says your country is India ? :-?

Hope that will be the case that they are asking for fees in anticipation of dates to go till April 2008. This journey is tiring, frustating and slowly seems like I will loose the fight.

Need some advice on my case from experienced members:

Priority date: April-2007
Category: EB2
Chargeability: India
I-485 filled: July-2007 (Flood gate opening case)
Finger Printing: August-2007
RFE on I-485: June-2009 (RFE is: Why did I changed my location/address)
RFE Replied: June-2009
Current online status: Response to RFE being reviewed

Contacted senator and he got the below update from USCIS – just wanted to make sure that when the priority date is current, USCIS should not sit on my case for months reviewing my RFE

“USCIS confirms it received a response to its RFE on June 2,2009. An Immigration officer will review this information once your application is adjudication only (meaning the priority date is current).Further, the USCIS tells me that when your priority date becomes current, you will be scheduled to appear at USCIS service center to have your biometrics taken again”

In one of the USICS earlier responses, to another senator, they confirmed that my application is pre-adjudicated and they are waiting for the visa numbers.
Did anyone from July-2007 filers who got their finger printing done after 2007, are getting notices to get it done again?

I am worried that when the priority date is current, I will stuck up in taking care these things and the date would retrogress.

Appreciate your responses.

Default H.R.2161 - sec 103 - visa recapture

Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California Introduced H.R. 2161 on 6/14/2011, and sec 103 of the bill talks about recapture of unused visas. Can we request IV to support this bill? This will help all of us to get out of this huge GC backlog.

Sorry for deviating the objective of this thread, just wanted to share this information to see if this can be supported by IV, since this is one of the forum used by some of the main folks, who work with IV closely.

Default National Records Center

Folks, need little advise here. This is for one my close relative.

His Priority Date is current since Last Month (PD is 6/23/2006), but still didn't receive GC yet, took infopass on 5/27 and went there, the officer told him that my file was transferred by mistake to other office, she said she will recall that file, which will take around 2 weeks, its already 3 weeks.

Then, on 6/7, he called USCIS Office and put a Service Request for the same reason. Today, by mail, he received a letter saying that:

"The status of this Service Request is:

We are unable to give you information at this time because your file is currently located in National Records Center. You will be notified by mail upon its arrival."

I was reading some info on NRC and read about Right to Information Act and all. Getting scary now. Anyone has experience with NRC or anyone knows why the file is located in NRC ? Any advise on next steps ? any help highly appreciated.
