AP/EAD is for 2 years. probably uscis looking to build pipe line inventory, which can be cleared in next 2 years. this may be the intent moving further in next 2 months. and retrogress in summer so they can orderly approve earlier PD cases.

some posted tight pipe line is better, so we can expect movement next oct-dec also. if they move now people can use EAD/AP a year earlier, if they take 2 years pipeline instead of 1 year then all the latter 2008 people get a chance to use AP/EAD 1 year early. in next oct-dec they have to move again 1 more year to get one more year applicants so at the begining of each year they get to maintain 2 years pipeline
How does this fits in with the INVENTORY / DEMAND DATA?

There was another post on some thread about around 60K perm applications for EB2 in 2010!! and about 35K for EB3 the same year. I dont know where they get all these numbers from.
The bottom line is not to worry about these numbers. There is more to be happy about now than there was 6 months back. With the current reduced demand for EB visas it is the right time to make some corrections to the system and HR3012 should be our focus now.

Now here is another set of numbers. Try figuring this one out.

The EB2:EB3 ratio has changed form 1:2 to 3:1 from 2007 through 2011.
People have increasing realized that it is useless to file EB3 apart from
extending 6 yrs non-immigrant visa limit and having a PD to port later.

EB2 EB3
2007 26123 54590
2008 42282 76505
2009 28901 42080
2010 62111 36401
2011 8640 3305

There are some lawmakers who would like to get rid of the EB3 category altogether.
But if we look at the PERM data matrix above, seems like they don't have to do that.
One day EB3 may join hands with EB1/EB4/EB5 and provide visa numbers to EB2!

Hello,

From where you get these numbers? Numbers of people who filed under EB3? .. No one publishes out for year later than Current PD year i.e. post 2007-08. How you get it? Is it your guessimate?

If there are more people going for EB-2 than EB-3, does that mean that EB-2 would be slower now?

Pappu_Pager, thats exactly what I was asking to the poster. Where did you get these numbers from and what do they mean? The original posters ID is listed in the post. I have no clue and dont care about what this means anyway. Just pointed out the various numbers that are going around and people spending hours trying to solve the puzzle.

I guess, it may not be more important to know, when we will get GC in hand, but it is important to know, when our PD would be current. Based on March 2008, it looks it would take only 3.5 years for EB-2 to be become current -- is it, so?

If the bill is passed, it should be even better i.e. the PD to become current under EB-2 would be only 1 or 1.5 yrs? Is it a good estimate?

Isn't porting risky? We loose both side, sometimes... Also, regular full-time job with big corporation it is almost impossible to port etc .. Small companies like Desi IT companies could do, probably, but now-a-days, those are even riskier than waiting in line for GC ... Small companies ..we never, when we loose our line number, anytime ..everytime, it is a risk traveling back-n-forth USA .. it's much hassle than good .. Plus, person working on EB-3 with full-time good job, we loose our job/ promotion etc, while shifting .. it's not that easier / safe to port than one can think .

HR 3012 is the good answer to all these worries ... Anyone knows, what is going with the progress of HR 3012 ? .. My understanding is that ... it is waiting for Vote from House and then from Senate .. all the analysis work is done ... If so, are they taking so long, just to vote !!! .. I could understand analysis can take time, but this is post-analysis voting... Is there anyway anyone could influence the progess or timeline? It would not be that worth-while, if HR 3012 passing after 5-8 years...

Some of the laws / bills in congress, I see, got passed in a week, from the day, they got first introduced .. The Border Security Bill H.R. 6080, which increased H1B fees -- that was passed in a week from the date, when it was introduced .. !! .. What was so special about it ? .. it had 13 Senators supporting it .. H.R. 3012 has only 6 .. is that the issue ? . Anyone is up-to-date on these things? ..Any lawyers ? .. Why the outcome of H.R. 3012 is taking so long ? Why congress is acting like some lazy govt. court ? ..

Teddy and Other Experts,

What are your thoughts on how the dates will move in the next few months.

Thanks.

The numbers of cases of EB2 alone are aoutnd the PERM labors approved from 2008-2001Q3 (all categories combined)

Maybe simple logic.... Thats a good way of not loosing VISA numbers in EB2 ..They are giving them chance in the beginigning of year rather opening everything in last few months.

There are chances EB3 will progress this year beyond MID2003 (last quarter)
